Gonna be ordering a nice selection of high-end seeds soon, ranging from Pineapple Express to G-13xColumbian Gold. I only have enough space to grow from seed each time, so cloning is not an option for me. So, I would like to do an entire grow with them, only for the purpose of producing 100's of Feminized seeds, so that I can keep the strain going without having to order more seeds again.
I did a outdoor grow a few years ago with a couple Afgan Kush + Super Skunk plants, which ended up getting light polluted by a nearby street light, in turn turning them herm. I let them finish, and they produced 100's of really good healthy looking seeds. I kept them, and didn't think much of it until a couple years later when I read that females that are stress induced somehow into becoming herms, usually produce feminized seeds.
After I started growing Indoors, I decided to give the ol' AK+SS seeds a go, and out of the 30 I have grown to maturity so far, 27 of them have been straight female all the way through the grow, not one herm. I know I'm not that lucky, so the seeds had to have been feminized.
My question is: What is the most reliable and foolproof way to make a Female turn Herm, and produce feminized seeds? The light pollution way seemed to work well last time, but I wanna see if there are any better ways of doing it out there.
Thanks fellow RIU'ers and a happy toking sunday to you all.
