What's a good container for storing and pouring nutrients?

I tend to buy my nutrients in bulk because it's a bit less hassle this way, but the containers are very ungainly for pouring small mL amounts. I always lose some solution because of the way the mouth of the container is designed - it dribbles down the side when I pour. I thought about pouring a few hundred mL into a sealed mason jar, but a mason jar isn't light tight. It's nice that they're made of glass though. I suppose I could wrap it up in foil tape. Mason jars pour decently well, though a slow pour might dribble also. Anybody have any thoughts for a good container that delivers a decent pour?

Funny enough I just bought some plastic beaker type jars with hermetic clip lids, similar to tupper wear, for this very purpose.

How are you liking them? Got a link by chance?

I always assumed nutrients needed to be stored in total darkness, is that the case?

I just got them from a regular super-market. They all have them. alonng with the other tupperwear and kitchen storage.

The nutes I bought (GH Flora 5L) came in clear bottles and sat in the Hydrostore like that. ... Anyways, I store them in a dark cupboard.

They work great, and I can shake my nutes in them without fear.

i agree get a dispensing pump or use a turkey baster no need to romove nutes from contaner to another contaner

Great suggestions. Thank you all. I never thought about any of these...how silly. I like the pump idea, I just have to see if I can find one to fit the jug of H&G nutes. It seems like an odd size, but I'll measure it. The turkey baster and squeeze bottle ideas should work too. Maybe I'll just try em all!

you dont need it to fit on the nute bottle, just any bottle, then put the nutes in the bottle that the pump fits!!!!! geatieas!!!

Ya I buy by the gallon or larger and in bulk and this is what i use. As for dripping I could of bought different cap tops with squeeze type ends but I use a measured shot glass to mix and these small containers and their openings work just fine.

I actually really like those small bottles in your picture. It is almost identical to the bottle that the electrode storage solution for pH meters comes in. It pours really well, never drips at all. Do you know where to get those? Online perhaps?

I guess I'll give up the notion that nutrients need to be stored in opaque containers. Doesn't seem to make a difference. I store the bottles inside a cardboard box anyway.
