A robust, thick stalked pure sativa male is now getting bunches of grape clusters but the 4 females surrounding it are a month behind. By then we are into mid October and losing the ideal temperatures, and sun.

What can I do with this male that would preserve the plant till such time as it can fertilize the females (I am trying for seed, not buds, on this group of females as these are the last of the pure sativa strain I harvested over 20 yrs ago?)

Taking cuttings and attempting to root clones is not working. Yet. I am going to take at least a dozen mid-plant branches for more cloning attempts but as a backup, I'd like to keep the male from dying. Can I re-veg by putting it back to 24 hours lighting on? Will the plant stay alive if I pull it from the ground and keep it in ph corrected h2o with nutrients foliar fed?

Or can I dig up the male and put it in a sectioned off part of the basement, with 12/12 lighting without damaging the plant or killing it?

4 others are also showing male but aren't as vigorous as this one.

Or does it not matter at all if a male has thick grape clusters, and shows b 4 it's brothers and sisters?
