What to do about rabits?

Damn rabits are eating all my outdoor plants.
First they would just take bites of the fan leaves, bad enough, but now
they are eating the whole plant and leaving me a stick in the ground.
How can I keep them from my plants.

Ah rabbits, my nemeses too, lol. They eat everything. You can buy powdered fox urine and sprinkle it all around your plants. I also use blood and bone meal sprinkled around too. I also trap mine in live traps now and set them free in the country. There are organic sprays you can get to to deter them away. I have heard of cayenne pepper sauce works too. There are a few ways to get rid of them out there. Good luck.:peace:

buy an air rifle, then some hunting pellets and shoot them :) its fun
Ya, hubby shoots at them with a pellet gun too, l don't like that though and give him shit for it cause our nighbours are so close, someone could call the cops. Last year my dog got one, he grabbed it, shook it, tossed it and then stared at it, didn't know what to do next, lol. I prefer the live traps myself, lure them in with carrots and celery and take them far away.:peace:

If you put human hair from a recent haircut or somthing around the plant stems the rabbits will smell your scent and not eat it ...

a simple chicken wire fence will stop that.

rabbits will only eat them when they are young, when they get bigger they leave them alone,(that is my observations anyway and i live in bunnyville as we call it 1 rabbit per square foot :hump:).

i think most animals would get stoned if they ate enough. some get a taste for it and others wont touch it after the first go.

heres how i deal with rabblt problems
Thats what I do too!!

Except I take the skin that my snake sheds and put it around my plant, I also have a small amount of fencing as well.

Theres a ridiculous amount of rabbits up here so I didn't think it could hurt. I do believe they are afraid of it though, as I am sure that they could pick up the scent from the skin.

But thats just an assumption by my part

In my area farming is really common and rabbits are a problem as well. I would not reccomend most sprays or poisons because they can usually damage your plants no matter what they say. If it's a managable size to do so. I would reccomend a chickenwire fence. This will keep out rabbits and most other animals that will disturb your crop. But if that is not an option I would put out about one trap per 300 square yards. Bait them with vegetables. But when you catch the rabbits either shoot them and fry them if you know how. Or leave the carcass around the perimeter of your plants. It will deter rabbits by attracting their predators and their predators odors.
