i am visiting a friend for a few months in india, it is around 25c outside here just now, in may/june it gets to around 40c outside

my question is will any strain grow in these conditions here in india?

if not am i best doing an indoor grow at this time of year, if so what seeds are best for a higher temp?

thanks for any help

well the temp right now is just perfect, when it gets up over 100 F, some problems arise.

i would say go with Himalayan Gold.

thanks, il look into that.

does anyone know what the deal with the sunlight pattern is in India? I have tried looking on net but cant find anything, i wonder if i can leave them outside till the temps get too high then bring them in under lights inside (have air con inside to regulate temps)

Only thing is what if they start flowering straight away? I dont know if its 12/12 outside or not, hard to tell.

well idk, india has had weed growing in it forever, religions are based on it, shiva lives in the valley of weed. its a very holy plant.

i dont see why it wouldnt grow there, but like you said, the daylight period may be different, may call for starting at different times. im sure there is alot of differences between growing there and where im from.

it kinda sounds like your best bet would be to start an indoor garden untill you can figure more out about india.

yeh it originates from this part of the world, so kush strains should be able to handle the heat?

may buy some afghan kush seeds then.

would love a bit of cheese but not sure if that will handle the heat here

hi....
so ive just taken my plants to the roof....
im growing oj kush.... nothern lights..... 3 unknown (bag seed)....

at the moment v r geting abt 11.30 hrs of sunlight....

heat will b our biggest concern...where i live it'll gt as hot as 50C.... so if u want to b outdoors try a green house mesh many fans.... and keep the area humid.... when it gts that hot ur plants will not b flowering so u can reduce the temp by keeping the area wet....

i cant b too much hepl as this is my first grow... im tryin both indoors under a 250 w hps and 8 25w cfl's... and outdoors my plants r 4 days into flowering...

but remember this.... v r in india.... even if u just chuck some seeds outside.... the will grow.... i would recomend a heavy sativa blend if ur in the south.... or a afgani if in the north

cheers

I would say any sativa strain from an equatorial area would be more than just happy in that climate.

hi dude, thanks for the reply.

So with the current light being at around 11.5 hours a day, if i planted some seeds outdoors today would they start to flower straight away? would that be ok given that they are outside?

so these kush and afghan strains can tollerate around 45c of heat and still grow ok? if so thats fecking remarkable!

World Of Seeds - Afgan Kush Feminised

This come from mountainous region of Hindu Kush (north of Afghanistan). Another pure landrace indica Kush, grows wild in the valleys of Armu Darya , river that border with Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

• Race: Pure race obtained from Afgani Kush zone
• Genotipe: Almost 100% Indica

Is the above what im after basically? 100% pure race?

i would recommend u wait another week or so.... by that time we will b at 12/12....
ur plants will flower in oct/nov....
the only problem that u will face is that ur plants will become monsters after that long in veg.... if u have space then go 4 it....

i wont let the temp gt over 30C.... wich will b good for almost any strain.... all u have to do is keep the area very humid with a lot of air during peak summer.....

by sept the temp will b around 20-25....
thats when u flower

best of luck

but i thought that 12/12 would enduce flowering straight away?

so if i planted em now would they flower for like 8 weeks and then harvest or what?

no bro it dont exactly work like that.... if the seeds sprout and find 12/12 they wait untill the next flowering season.... some might flower now but they wont get enough 12/12 to keep up flowering and will eventually revert back to veg.... 12/12 only lasts the month of may and oct
a sure shot method is to shine some light on them during the night.... even a torch light will work.... any light more than the moon's light is enough to keep the plants veging....

im going to leave em outside for 12 hours then give em another 6 hours of cfl light inside at night, veg for 3 weeks then just leave them outside to flower. that should work?
