What size to cut exhaust hole for veg room exhaust?

how ya doin

I already have a 6 inch fan to exhaust my flower room....I bought a 6 inch y split so I can add another duct to exhaust my newly built veg box so I only have to use one fan/filter.

Obviously I'm gonna use 6 inch flex ducting for exhaust...but my box is so small- 28x20 with only 22 inch height lol...fyi using t5 light, 3 gal pots, and a lot of lst.

But my ? Is....do you think it would be more beneficial to make a 3 inch circle on the actual box and have extra space on the sides of the 6 inch ducting?
Might be a stupid idea but I was worried that a 6 inch hole in my little veg box would be too big and a waste

Thanks in advance fellas

:leaf:g'day lefty,:weed:
it depends how powerfull the 6" fan is, but ur right
a 4" inch fan would be ample air for such a small space.

My veg room with 6 in can fan and carbon filter it's pretty packed at the moment. But if your set up is that small you can go to ace hardware or even like Walmart and get like a 3in wall fan that will exhaust out perfectly I've made many cloning boxes like this before.

They sell pieces at Home Depot. 6 inch to 4 inch and so on there are multiple sizes. Use one of these adapters if you don't want to buy a new fan that's smaller. It might not come out as strong but air will go through it. Sometimes it's best to buy new equipment but if you can't there are cheaper ways that arnt always as effective

Quick Tip: If your walls are sucking in then your exhaust is too strong.
