Hi guys?? got a question for ya..been growing for right about 2 years...started growing in soil..grew that way for 6-8 months and made the switch to hydro...more specifically..perpetual sog, ebbnflow....so im used to growing anywhere from 75-100 small, lollipopped 12" plants...due to lack of time because of my outdoor situation, i wanna switch my style up until the end of the year...i wanna grow 1 big fucking bushy whore....I have an afghan kush that is pretty big in size, for my starter... my question is...is it capable to get 1lb off of 1 plant in a 10g pot???what do u guys recommend for the size of pot??is there a some sort of ratio to follow??thanks guys....ganja

ps...i will be journaling this grow...

And I will be subscribing.
Are you growing it outdoors or indoors?
And yes ive seen 1lb plant grows.
10gallo will get you around 6-10oz depending on the grower easily.

ya...ive been considering the same but i only have a 250w hps to work with, and 125w full spec as side lighting, so i think it would benefit me ten fold...my buddy on the other hand has a 1000w, and has monster buds...im talkin like 8in. tall, and 6 in. in diameter...just huge.gets like 15 of them per plant.

you can def do a nice scrog with a 250...yeild wont be as big, but it will improve ur yield from a standard grow...and those 8in buds are the bud im looking for..well see...the strain im running is a fast finisher too....55 days from start to chop

This a comment not related to yield. The plant pictured above is big for the pot it's in and is root bound. Usually a root bound plant that is repotted is still restricted and will not get huge. Had it been re-potted a while ago it would be much bigger. Something to be aware of.

im still getting alot of vertical height...would i be getting that with a rootbound plant??

lol...dude dont listen to that guy shes not root bound...it is possible. but very very hard to end up with a rootbound plant, unless your one of those shot glass, or 16 oz. party cup growers. too many people just jump right to the conclusion that it is root bound. before it actually gets root bound to the point it constricts itself, and cant uptake anything everytime he waters it will take forever to drain. and again getting a plant root bound to the point of killing itself is hard as shit to do!

i said the same thing as this guy ^. https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/143638-newsflash-there-no-such-thing.html i got ripped apart on this thread just like 90% of people will. FDD2BLK proved rootbound is just a symptom of improper watering. you can technically grow 1/2 OZ in a party cup, there was someone on here that did that to.....

my question is...is it capable to get 1lb off of 1 plant in a 10g pot???what do u guys recommend for the size of pot??is there a some sort of ratio to follow??thanks guys....ganja
10 gallon pot = 6-8 OZ plant, depending on how its taken care of. a monstercropped clone, supercropped and bent thats BABIED could get 10 OZ's out of 10 gallons....... think of it this way, do you get 1 OZ from a 1 gallon pot? nope.

THESE are the "pots" you want for 1 LB (16 OZ's) per plant. http://www.rubbermaid.com/Category/Pages/ProductDetail.aspx?Prod_ID=RP091450 there was a guy a few years back that grow 12 plants averaging 1.5-2LBS per 20 gallon garbage can......

i would love to be able to use the rubbermaid, but im limited in height...so theres no way i can use that....the biggest my hydro store sells is the one i have....and ordering online is gonna rape my ass when it comes to shipping...so this is what i got...if i get 6- 10ozs i would be happy....i am going to run 2 plants..i have a vortex thats as big, if not bigger than my Afgkush...each with there own 1000w over top of them...i wanna get the show on the road this week...stay tuned and thanks for the input bro....ganj

Pull the plant out of the pot and take a pic. It will be root bound. If it is root bound it doesn't mean it is doomed. It can still develop further but will not grow to it's optimal level in soil. The use of liquid ferts etc. can still supply nutrients.

Do you think that the plant will grow and yield as well as if it had been trans-potted earlier? Do you think it will yield 1 lb. as asked?

Root bound is structural. Yes, you can keep a plant that is root bound thriving but put it in the ground and see how well it does on it's own. You would have to help it along by stabilizing it and giving it extra water and nutrients.

Fuck it, I say go with a 20 gallon smart pot. shoot for 1.5 to 2. lol
Yeah, don't get me wrong, I'm a major proponent of larger pots if you have the time and room, etc. I'm itching to do 15 gallon organic soil grows with little or no fert post planting.

ordering a 20 gallon smart pot would be the way to go as they encourage side branching, are hella wide, and you dont have to fill it all the way. for a pound per indoors high calax to leaf ratio strains are the only way i have seen it done
