That all depends on the footprint of each area. A 600 watt HID light will cover 5' X 5' fairly well. You don't say whether you want LED, HID, CFL or what. 4 600 watt HID systems would cover the floor space.

I should have answered properly. I apologize. What hotrod said.

and whats your climate like. your substrate?

What do you mean veg and flower? Your light blocking it halfway?

I run 1000w in a 3x5 btw.

Id say 8 ish 1000w HID MH/HPS (Hydro? BIG CHILLER)

And a massive AC ... . but seriously. 8ish would be good at 25+ sq ft per light. Right. Is my math off?

I wouldnt do LED right now at that size. My preference though. I am not very learned with LED. Others will know better.

It won't be divided the hole area will be used for vegging and then turned off for flowering, I believe that a 600 watts HID will only cover 3' x 3' and 1000 watts HID will cover 4' x 4', some people say that the double end 1000 watt HID will cover 5' x 5' and other says 6' x 6' I am not sure on that, I can't tell what king of lights I want as I will go with the best or the ones that will yield more, it could be HID, LED or CMH.

Thanks for your Help.

Oh yield? Veg with MH and Flower with HPS.

But you can also yield an eight from that. Or over a lbs from 1 plant. Depends on your skills sir.

Why not co2 if you want speed. Can I suggest alot of reading? Theirs alot of good books to buy online etc. Jorge Cervantes. etc. Sounds like a big grow like that you should be very much inclined on what you are doing.

Pce. Hope it goes well. bongsmilie

Are these like better than a 1000 watts HPS? or at least will they yield the same.

Sun System LEC 630 Light Emitting Ceramic MH Fixture - 240 V w/ 3100 K Lamps.

Thanks in Advance.

4K if you like walkways . 6k if you like nugs > walkways
14' x 16' =224 Sq ft
4k = 4000 watts / 224 = 17.8 x sq ft.
6k = 6000 watts / 224 = 26.7 x sq ft.

Are you sure that 4k or 6k will cover it? what kind of lights are you talking about?, maybe 6000 watts of CXB 3590 3500k will cover it, I know for sure HPS won't do it, I don't know if CMH will do it.

Thanks for your help.

every room is different as far as optimal layout. Door(s) location, where you plan to put/mount equipment, ventilation points of entry/exhaust, using hydro tables or standalone soil pots, creating walkways/space to work, etc... Only you know all the details of the layout. As long as you know lighting footprints I'm sure you'll figure it out. I've never done a room that large but it would be fun to plan out, no doubt! I don't think you'll necessarily nail it on the first go either, I imagine it will take some tweaking

It will be standalone soil pots and I don't need to know anything else other than the lights as I am looking to use the most efficient lights other than HPS ones.

Thanks for your help.

You know for sure? Your thinking narrow minded. 1k watts covers 5x5 or more easily if you want it to. The answer to your question is... As much light as you want to use. how much of that is canopy vs area of dehus , walkways , nutrient station, res area .. If your using 14x16 of straight canopy I would use 9k watts. Hps is the only light worth flowering under
