What kind slug is this?

I grow in 5 gallon bubble buckets and find this in one of my buckets.
anyone know what it is?How to get rid of it? How to prevent it? Will it hurt the plants roots?

Roots are stained because general hydroponics products I use. Water is ph 5.8

First of all, congratulations on getting a slug into a Hydrophonic set-up.

It looks a little bit like a leech rather than a slug, though.

I have more questions than answers at this stage, lol!

It’s from what I can tell larvae and is a drain fly

are you running sterile or organic?
if sterile i'd suggest hydrogen peroxide.

Currently running general hydroponics flora series along with silica blast cal mag floralicious plus kool bloom flora nectar and h202

Ditch the Floralicious, the Kool Bloom, and the flora nectar. All are completely unnecessary. Less shit to mix, your wallet will be a bit heavier, and your roots won't be stained like that.

After this run I’m switching to jacks 321 but if using general hydroponics liquid kool bloom is a game changer in my opinion

No.

Everyone is titled to their opinion. But I’ve done many grows in dwc and since adding kool bloom every harvest since has been better than without

is koolbloom just a PK boost? or does it have other stuff too?

You solved it! Drain fly larvae is killed by running a 'sterile' reservoir. I use Ca Hypochlorite (pool shock) others use H2O2. I prefer pool shock because it lasts longer and is less fugitive.
