What kind of filter should I use for intake?

I'm sucking air straight from outside via a 6" 445 CFM inline fan and need something that will not only prevents leaves and dust from coming in, but also mold and disease. Right now, this method of intake is the only thing that is working, but if anyone has ideas, please shoot them my way!!(Ive tried passive...just not enough fresh air coming in.) Also, its getting cold where iam, so I have to shut off the intake when the lights are off. (2-600W HPS).

Anyways, if anyone could recommend a good filter for this, that would be great!!! Thanks

I use a furnace filter but if you are concerned about spores and things you could use a vacuum bag or something like that. BTW I'm a huge Phish fan myself.

I've got a 5x8x8' room with the 8" deau passe filter(not the carbon one) on my intake. The exhaust is an 8" Can-Fan RS 8HO feeding into a can-filter knock-off(forgot the model).

The filter offers quite a bit of air resistance. I'm pretty sure the filter is rated at something like 2200CFM, about 3 times the rated CFM of my fan(when it's not going into a can-filter, so the actual CFM should be even less). So with about 400 CFM(wild ass guess) of actual flow I'm getting a huge pressure drop in the room - I can barely open the door without turning off the fan for a bit.

I really wanted to HEPA filter my intake air, but I think I'll be switching to something like an airsock or even just some bug netting. Besides, HEPA is really overkill - if you can't seal your door and your lights you'll be letting in dirty air anyway.

I've only got an 8" intake so I'm stuck with something that will fit on that... and my intake is a couple inches off the floor so I don't want to waste valuable floor space. I ended up ripping off the Deau Passe and strapping some poly-fill like quilt batting and a piece of window screen over the 8" duct. Works well enough - should keep out the aphids and doesn't restrict the flow too much.
