what is wrong with this plant

Possible fert. burn but, hard to say since I have no history/conditions on this plant. Could even be the leaves are simply "mashed" by rough handling given the location of the damage (midway of leaves, near the edge of the terra cotta pot). Either way the plant looks relatively healthy overall. Try leaving it alone and let it dry out, nearly to the point of wilting, then water a little and see if it doesn't repond in a few hours.

yea thats what i was thinking its starting to happen to the top leaves as soon as the got big enough to touch the pot im going to put it in a new pot it i can do it with out killing it

The leaves with the brown spots dont look like there going to be coming back... there gone.. just make sure there is no new growth with that stuff on there...

I got to thinking about this plant and its symptoms. I keep coming back to the location of the damage. Noticed a "salt ring" on the inside of this pot. Has it been used for another grow? I would re-pot as you suggested and put the plant higher in the new pot. Fill with potting soil. Water until it drains and the soil settles down to about 1/2-3/4" below the edge of the pot. Don't put the rootball any deeper than it was orginally and prune off the damage. Should be fine.

i re potted it and have included pictures of my grow set up, it is a tower speaker box with 2 23w cfls and a fan blowing 24/7
