What is up with the term "medicating"?

Serious question - to those of you who refer to your THC intake as "medicating".. why do you say that? I take a lot of daily medications and I don't refer to taking pills as medicating... just wondering what makes smoking weed worthy of such a title.

Generally speaking, I usually get this vibe of superiority from those who use the term "medicate" as opposed to those who smoke to get high, or just to feel better. I don't have cancer, chronic back pain, or any of those other issues THC is commonly "prescribed" for. I DO have GAD, which I take Zoloft and Welbutrin for, but cannabis doesn't seem to help (or hurt) that. If I lived in a medical state, I would probably laugh at the doctor that tried to write me a "prescription" for it. I think cannabis certainly has it's medicinal properties, but fact of the matter is that smoking ANYTHING negatively affects your health. I just don't understand the term "medicating" and why it is used.

Anyone care to enlighten me?

Why do people say caramel or carmel?

It's the same

Doesn't matter what enigma or judgement you have on it- I'm gettin' the vibe of a snotty guy from ya =\

I know not always, but when people say medicated it's my questionable hint if they are reefering to the magic herb
When a heroin junkie says lets get medicated and it becomes a mainstream term for hard shit I'll stop saying it, seldom enough as is

Besides. As long as you don't phucking say it all day it's okay. I'd rather be colorful than a monotone robot with limited vocabulary just because of what someone thinks

Using the above list in coalition with a fractional distillation set-up.

Specific cannabinoids and bi-cannabinoids, along with the terpenoid profile, I am gaining a better understanding on how to actually” customize” the extract to even further it's properties as a viable ” medication”.

No problem, just passing the list around, as much as I've studied the list, it is not of my creation.

I'd love to take credit for it, as it is well composed, but the power and the potential of real healing powers.

This had been proven through testimony of those lucky enough to be treated by the fine folks of Skunkpharm.
Really amazing shit

I agree with Sirdabs, this is powerful medicine, not just something people take to get high. We are working with an a lady who has an adult daughter who is 35, she has cerebral palsy, mentally handicapped and has seizures. The doctor's said she should be institutionalized and that she would live past puberty, well she has. Her mom has taken to growing cannabis and making a tincture with vegetable glycerin. This helps her daughter, however, We made a pretty strong extraction using coconut oil and made brownie bites. The mom took one to test on her daughter, it was a sativa strain specific oil. Anyway, I heard from the mother the next day that she gave 1/2 of the brownie bite and her daughter slept soundly all night and with NO SEIZURES. I don't know all the scientific reasons why it worked, but can tell you this stuff is straight medicine. Oh and by the way, I have had two neck fusions and was able to get off 10 prescriptions with the use of cannabis.
