what is this? preflower?

so looking at my other plant today i noticed somthing that kinda looked like a preflower..atleast its in the spot where ive always seen preflowers.
it is not at the very top..it is at the second node down from the top.

i am curious as to what everyone here thinks it is..as ive never seen this before.
