I started this exact topic a few months ago in a thread and received a number of responses and then did some follow up research online.
Most people agreed that the fridge is the best place. Although one person said that constant opening and closing of his fridge caused enough temperature differences that it ruined his seeds.
The people who had sucess in the fridge often kept the seeds in small tupperware containers and buried the packs of seeds in white rice.
Online articles I found also stated that the fridge is best b/c it slowed down decomposition due to the cool temp. The article that seemed most credible warned against the freezer though b/c it was too harsh and would damage the seeds. Although there are most likely exceptions, the author of the article I read said that 3 years should be the max that you store seeds and that after 3 years the chances of germination decrease.
Personally I am going to store in the fridge in a small, air tight tupperware container and bury the seeds in as much rice as I can fit in the container with the seeds. I'll put the container in the back of the fridge and wrap it in a couple paper bags to keep light out. Light also degrades the seeds.
