What Is the Average? (Grams Per Watt)

mygirls

Medical Marijuana (MOD)
6 plant under one 1000wtt hps veged for 60 days ruffly 896 grms between them all. one plant alone just over 400 grms.

1000w x 12 hours a day x 65(days flowering) = 780000 watts. Now divide that by 1000
to get ur KWH used. ( 1000 watts = 1 killo watt hour)
so we have
1000w x 12hours x 65days = 780000watts now divide that by 1000, which means I used 780kwh
lets say off that 1000 watt light I received one pound(448 grams)
so divide your total amount of grams, by ur KWH used 448g / 780KWH = .6 grams per watt.

heres the real question

if your life depended on it, & u had to say how many grams per watt do you average. and all you could do was answer with a number and no other spoken word or gesture.

what is that number

regardless of lifes gray areas and the woulda coulda shouldas

this is all I seek

I have a question thats related to this thread. Do you guys find that higher wattages increase gram/watt or gram/kwh? Does a 600w HPS give you more gram/watt than a 250 HPS?

yes 600w will give u more that a 250w g/w alot of people shoot for .5 grams per watt in the light used

The highest GPW Ive known to gain is by Heath Robinson 2.17 GPW with his Flooded Tube vertical grow.

Good question! The greater the light penetration, the higher your yield. 1 gram per watt may be achievable under 1000w lights, but .5 grams is a more realistic goal under 400w lights.

The same goes for yield times; in the sun or under 1000w you can go by the breeders estimates, but as the light penetration decreases, you can start adding weeks to that average "flowering time".

I don't have enough grows to give an average yield, but a 1/4 lb - .5 grams per watt are good estimates under 400w.

And average flowering time under 400w is closer to 3 months than 2.

Ok, so that all seems to make sence to me, do you think that this changes when using multiple lights? lets take your 400 example, now lets say there are 2 400's, are you still figuring on .5g/wt @ 800 watts OR is it something like .75g/wt @ 800 watts?

This is really a silly thread, its like bistro mathmatics for hitchhikers guide.

last grow I finally hit 1g per watt exactly.

got right around 600 Grams flowering with a 600 watt light.

about 21 oz's growing GreenHouse White Widow strain.

I cant imagine how somone could get 2 grams per watt unless the strain was crazy yielding with low potency

hard for me to see much over 1grm as well but if I groom the hell out of as many plants as will in my bloom leaving no wasted space maybe 2grms I will try I think if its doable I can. its medication time for now

I had growtent 2m x 2m area. Using 1 x 400W HPS and 1 x 600W HPS = 1000W. 24 plants and 6 of them vegged long time and 18 of them 3 weeks. I had about 600grams. so 0.6 here.

IF you really want to get high yield... i recommend you strain called Supergirl... crazy heavy buds... but not so good smoke... but works.... if you need money then grow Supergirl... strongly reccomended...

I have 2 grows under my belt... first grow was real bad
last grow I got 0.3 grams per watt of lighting at 1000w and 5-7 wks veg.
this time I'm hoping for at least .4 gpw under a 600w hps and 400w mh and 4-5 wks veg.

Well here we go lets have it.....

How many grams per watt is your batting average??
Topic is surely food for a fun thread, but grams/watt is about the most inaccurate and crude means of measurement and has no real world value. Makes for fun reading with a little chest beating, anecdotal evidence, perhaps some romanticism thrown in. :D
