Should I be working on making a covering from the rain now that it's switching to flowering?
im not following,Cap.to ward off budrot? that will help, but humidity/low airflow is a bastard too.
dont cut that off that's what is called "purple"
you sure? i hope youre right for thr OP's sake.if its just a couple small sites,id cut it and wouldnt worry about loss.if it shows up everywhere, then purp it is.i tend to be a little over vigilante with my plants though.

I thought that might be a problem. I do have some of mine growing along a window. Maybe put a window fan in there? Probably wouldn't ventilate the lot.

Maybe only a top covering? It's gotta be worth it, no? You don't have a covering?

no.im in the woods and most of my plants are early finishers.like september, which can be wet and humid minus the cold nights like in october, which is also problematic.i have plants fully budding right now that im not terribly worried about mold, but im ALWAYS watching out for it.i do have some late finishers that i am going to build some boxes with clear plastic for.i started them late, they wont get too big,so i might be able to build them their own mini greenhouse.

You sure? No offense but it is only on two bud sites and the rest are all green. It's not a big problem if I need to get rid of it, that seed came from a bag of not so hot smoke. It's not too much of a loss if I have to yank it up and outta there. I just don't want to lose my good plants which are white widow and AK47.

that's just purple pigments expressed it could be a lockout of some sort but don't go cutting it off just cuz it's a different color. it looks normal to me. mold doesn't look like that it looks like mold.

The purple strains that i have grown out the purple starts on the leafs surrounding the bud & makes it's way to the bud.Yours are doing to opposite,I would keep a close eye on that.

I second this. The sugar leaf and surrounding fan leaves will go purple well before the inner stuff would. Its far too early in flowering for it to go purple also. That typically comes towards the end.

I got buds that will go 100% purple while the leaves stay green. there are all kinds out there. i'd bet it's some sort of lock out but it's not mold and there is no reason to cut it off right now.

Thanks folks. I want to reiterate that it is only on two stems, on one it's all of the budlets on that stem. On the other one it's just on one bud site, the very top bud. Both stems are on the North side of the plant.

I specify the northern side, because some plants, lichens and such grow best on the northern side, whether it be a tree, rock or something else. I have no idea what it is, or could be.

I also know from reading, that color variation of plants is basically some kind of mutation that growers and breeders, bred plants specifically for that trait, creating many different varieties.

Now I am not sure if this could be such a mutation or something else entirely. I don't think that it is a mold. Just don't look right for that. Unless it's some kind of rust, or blight, I am at a loss for an explanation of what it is.

i agree with both you and puss on not looking like mold.interesting take on your north side theory,i like it.ive noticed on past outdoor grows, one of the first signs of budrot are really small leaves growing out of buds turn really bright.ive seen both yellow and purple leaves growing out of buds thst eventually had rot.that was really my only reason of concern with your situation.that purple you have going on resembles what ive seen growing out of buds.i do agree however, doesnt look to be mold.gl bro
