its supposed to be auto flowering.
wich means that it starts growing buds when the plant is small, stays fairly small (like sog), and the buds progressivly gain weight and crystalls as the plant continues to grow taller. It was bred with some sort of ruderallis (which contains no thc-ditch weed) supposedly. if i remember correctly i read on a seed page that it flowers when the lights go under 18 hrs a day so it dosent do shit outdoors...... it also said that it basically COULDENT be cloned because it couldent be forced to revert back to veg......but ive gotten clones to root while they have long female hairs on them and they got root balls the size of golf balls while still producing female flowers.........

its suppose to be autoflowering, so i dont think that light cycles would matter too much, or changing them anyways. i dont think theres anything that triggers its flowering other than genetics. all ruderallis is autoflowering an i do agree that low rider was crossed at some point with c. ruderallis

so what lighting would be best? would i need both (red and blue) or would i use just the budding bulb?

lowriders are generally ruderallis crosses thats how they get the autoflowering trait.

OK

where would everyone rank a lowrider based against the following competition.

middies
premium
shit hot
ditch weed

where would you guys place the lowrider

maybe middies, cuz ruderalis itself is ditch weed, so i guess it would depend on the genetics it was crossed with. damn i hope i get some rep for this shit haha. as for lighting situations, i would say a cross between red and blues until it hits flowers, then stick with the reds. Im not sure what the average flowering time is on the lowrider

I just got done with my grow (LRII). The plants were all done outdoors. Decent yield, hearty, pretty foolproof. This was my first grow. Buds are not tight nugs but did top nicely. Each plant was a little over 1/2 oz cured and jarred.

The potency is spectacular. I have enjoyed turning my seasoned stoner friends on to this savory bud and watch the creep (10 mins) turn them in to giggling couchlocked schoolgirls.

Very VERY skunky, then turns into a fruity scent. I will not hesistate to grow this again.

This is a great guerilla grow, newbie strain. Truly the "Johnny Appleseed" of hybrids.

After germing, I used a light fish emulsion watering mix. I sprinkle of miracle grow, during veg, then over to african violet flowering fert during flowering. Well water used, and then no nutes about two weeks prior to cutting.

Fun plant to grow with very stony results. I have been smokin for 35 years and this has one of the best highs I have experienced since the old redbud and panama days. Recognizably a indica dominant hybrid.:blsmoke:

there are sativa AND indica lowryder strains available. and i recently saw a seed company that was working on a half indica and half sativa strain but it hasnt been released yet.

Im curious about this plant now, after reading a little about it.
My questions are this,
1) how easy or soon can you tell if there are males among them ?
2) can it be cloned, and if so, how ?
3) sog sounds good, but determining males, and getting clones sounds dificult,,

hi thanks for all the info so far

yes lowryder is a very interesting strain

you carnt clone it, although some people say they have, but it was very difficult, because there it is 'auto flowering' so it goes from seed to bud in just weeks

when i grow this strain i will make a grow log so we can all see if it is as easy as they say :weed:

yea lowryder is unaffected by light its not photosensitive at all keep it on 24/7 and it will do great! and just cause its crossed with ditch weed doesn't mean its crap, they spent a long time trying to make a good ruderalis, and like talljeeper says that stuff is pretty good, it keeps up with my other plants in potency! and for the size the yeild is good i just dont like not being able to clone it easily but it can be done! dont let people say it cant, ive done it! they stay quite small though which is bad since lowryder is already small! try it you'll like it its very easy to grow too!

ok hopefully this post will clear up any confusion.
the original low ryder was an autoflowering ruderalis crossed with a very potent santa maria. there is also a low ryder #2 which im not sure of the background on, but it's potency and yield are higher than the first. there are plenty of variations on this, including master low. ruderalis DOES contain thc, but so little that it's not very good for getting high. however, since ruderalis is a cannabis plant, it was able to crossed, and subsequent generations back crossed to form a stable autoflowering yet potent offspring. this being low ryder. you CAN LEAVE THE LIGHTS ON 24/7 AND IT WILL FLOWER. ruderalis is genetically structured to flower regardless of light cycle. it flowers according to age, genetically. there are companies, including myself who are working on developing this into top notch cannaseaur quality herb. one of the latest and best progressions is blue streak, a cross of master low and blueberry. it is being stabilized and should be out in the next couple of months, available at seedbanks. mdanzig from icmag is the creator.

thanks i saw it and laughed my ass off!

oh and where is this masterlow, never heard of it? i do want to try it though!
i think masterlow was an orig from mdanzig also. blue streak is what to look for though, it will be one of, if not the best, autoflowering strains available. seedsman.com had it for a bit, guess he sold out. should be getting it back in within a month or 2

thanks, have you grown the blue streak, what is the chanceof it not being autoflowering? also how much doyou get when harvested lowryder?

havent ran with blue streak yet, but have watched other grows closely. autoflowering is high success and will be 100% stabilized on the next release. yield is about .5 oz. per plant, but you could take that higher. id say peak is probably 2oz per plant, but since no light regimen is req. you could plant a shitload of these and not worry about it. plant 100 for like 8 lb of bud, lol
