He isn't for cutting the defense department. The bigger threat to our nations security is a runaway debt and inflation.

Ron Pauls policy is to trade with all nations, entangling alliances with none. If we have an agreement with Country A and Country B what happens when they go to war with each other? Who do we support?
Have you read the reasons why they attacked us? It has nothing to do with western culture. They are a wee bit upset because we illegally occupy their country, we bomb their people, and our undying support of Israel. Read the CIA report from Michale Scheuer head of the Osama Bin laden unit. He gave those as the reasons why they attack us. They told us why. Ever wonder why they don't attack western culture countries who do not occupy their land?
As long as we illegally occupy those sovereign nations we will continue to incite hatred against us and be unsafe.
