what growmedium

Hi, I was wondering what kind of grow-medium there exist for hydroponics on the market, and which one you think is best?

If I were to do a hydro set up I would do a ebb and flow screen of green using 6 inch rockwool cubes as my grow medium

Hydroton and a home depot bucket.
