I was needing to know what fertilizer to use for.the vegitation stage, like what numbers should be on the package? Also what numbers should be on the package for the flowering stage. This is my first indoor grow. Im using soil for the medium, also using one cfl bulb.

No one's answered you because if you searched, there is a tonne of information on here. You also included no info on your setup- soil? hydro? strain? etc etc.

However, it can suck just being ignored when you go somewhere for help and I'll pity the lazy side of you because hell, who wants to do anything when they're blazing a fat one, squinting at the ceiling, lying on the living room carpet? It must have been hard enough just trying to sign up..

If you're hydro go with a 2 part feed. A+B VEG and A+B Flower and the rest of your nutes. If you're in soil then I'm not best to advise you but you can't really go wrong with either, with well known brands like Canna who will provide you with everything you need from start to finish. Very simple!

If your talking about home-brew fertilisers like miracle grow and that pish then just don't even bother. Spend the money on some good nutrients and be rewarded with some good smoke! All speculation until you explain more!

Any fertilizer with a 1:1:1 ratio of NPK. This could be 10-10-10, 16-16-16. Those numbers represent the quantity of NPK in the product you buy. You'd use more of the former, less of the latter because it's stronger. But, the ratio between those numbers is 1-1-1. That's all you care about.

In flower you may want higher P. But, there are people who grow 1-1-1 start to finish. If you do more P, it doesn't have to be a lot. You can get a product that's, say, 8-16-12 (a 1-2-1.5 ratio) and mix it with your 1-1-1 ratio fertilizer to get an average between them. (I made a spreadsheet that makes it easier to do this, and to see the strength, whether to use more or less.).

Or, you can buy Alaska Fish emulsion or any blood meal product to boost the N in veg (you shouldn't need to, but I'm just illustrating how you can adjust the ratios individually). And, you can buy langbeinite (sometimes called Sul-Po-Mag) to boost K. I think weed likes higher K.

Be wary of the cannabis-specific fertilizer products. They simplify what I'm describing, but you pay a premium for that and will be ignorant of what you're actually feeding (as you mix the pink bottle with the green bottle). It's best to think in terms of NPK ratios, and "PPM" strength. You'll learn to read your plants, giving them what they need. It takes time, so keep it simple to start (such as, 1-1-1 all the way through).

As far as which product to buy. It shouldn't matter. MiracleGro at the hardware store will be fine. MiracleGro isn't widely used by cannabis growers. A lot of growers use JR Peters Jack's Classic which is similarly inexpensive. It comes in a variety of pre-mixed ratios. I use Grow More Sea Grow which has some organic content. It comes in all-purpose (1-1-1 ratio) and flower & bloom (1-6.5-6.5 ratio, if I recall correctly). I mix the two. It's inexpensive too. About $1 per plant, per grow.

If you use a cannabis-specific boutique "lineup," you can use the spreadsheet to unravel the actual NPK and PPM so you can learn how to read your plants based upon what you're actually feeding.

Depends on medium, and what you want your plants to look like. More N = More bushy, Less N = more lanky. I use maxigro/maxibloom mostly so far, great results, if you want less bushy you can just go with maxibloom the whole time. Go with a cheaper option if growing in soil, for hydro you pay more because you don't have the help of bacteria and fungus to break down ammonia based N.

Simple answer! No hate...:)

Always used a balanced fertilizer for veg, If you need to, you can amend the same soil in bloom. :)

Welcome to the community. Happy Growing

Thanks man I appreciate the reply. I'm growing in soil. This is my first seed planted so im kind of making this a trial run.

Just be patient. In fact; I hope you know not to fertilize sprouts or new seedlings until they have 4=5 sets of true leaves, which proves that you have established a root zone.

I have a seedling in starter mix at this very stage, very healthy, no nutes yet. Once I transplant the seedling into a larger 1 gallon pot I will give it nutrients. So get your soil, and do not place seedling in it, until it gets to this stage and you will do fine.

One final note; Do not over water your baby. Mist around the base of it, as necessary and keep it damp, not too wet. Peace :)

Right now I have one seed planted in soil. I have one cfl bulb about 3-4 inches above the soil, I also read that putting saran wrap over the top of the planting pot helps seal in moisture and raise humidity levels. Thanks for the kindness!

Your very Welcome, Well you don't need to put seed deep into soil with the CFL, don't give any nutes right now just let her sprout, Keep it warm and make sure its not to warm, Put your hand under the Light where your girl is and hold it there for about oh 2 minutes that should be enough time to feel if your hand gets hot. You just want warmth and keep it moist but not to wet. and watch the miracle of the lady start to sprout, It will more than Likely will grow real long when she first comes up in about 5 to 7 days, Just keep your light where she stays warm and not hot and she will start to get stronger and stronger as the days go on. Don't feed it yet just water until you see at least 3 nodes hi, and still only if she is looking bad, but it should be ok for awhile. keep in touch, GL

If you want to seal in moisture; Make a little clear dome. Not sure I would want Saran wrap over the pot, unless you have plenty of space between that and the sprout.

Oh for the saran wrap you can use it, It will help the moisture stay in the cup, but you have to keep a close eye on her, not to deep in soil may be a quarter inch or less. she will sprout sooner , Like Latewood said I leave a bit of space for her

would all purpose miracle grow work?

I just went to the store, the only fertilizer I could find was all purpose miracle grow..on the back, there are the numbers 24-8-16... I thought I could use it, & that it would be better than no nutrience at all. In the list of compounds on the back I see nitrogen, but no P, or K.

I just bought some all purpose miracle grow. The numbers on the box say 24-8-16. Is that the npk? I see nitrogen on the list of compounds, but no P, or K.

Why doesnt someone give him from the heart information, you guys are too lazy, hes asking for help not for second hand news, from experience I dont know where you live but try something organic like seamax fish and kelp, high in nitrogen or a nice bone meal, fish emulsion, something high in nitrogen, potassium, phosphate and heaps of good micronutrience :)

That's NPK. It comes out to a ratio of 3-1-2. I wouldn't consider that to be "all purpose." I thought AP products were 1-1-1. But, that could be good in veg with the higher N.

In flower you'll want something like 1-2-2. If you get something that's higher PK you could mix it with your 3-1-2 to pull it down to 1-2-2. The spreadsheet I mentioned is good for figuring that out.

mine has a bit more boron and Zinc but you have more addatives, and I use potash in a spray bottle from an actual fire, this fertiliser is so good, mix in a bucket of water and let it sit for a day, then the next morning you have pure potassium and phosphorus, water that down, open the heads up and spray right in there, not literally cracking open a head just grab a fan leaf and pull the head so you can get the potash all through the heads
