The lst'ing will help w/ air circulation too. (in reference to being worried about the wettness and indica's.)

by doing thisimage.jpg

simply allow all heads to grow all together, tie em down, use tie wire, or string. Ur simply creating a scrog without using nets;) happy growing, alojahz;)

wow bro thats intense !! u seem like your in a dry area my rain situation sucks so far in new england but right when it gets dry im gonna work on em more. now are those wire ties your using ? it seems im im underestimating the stress they can handle as plants. but next year im gonna grow in barrels because my grounds seem very wet.

i'm sure someone already nailed it but here is my take on LST.

LST is bending the plant over to change flow of nutrients and increase light penetration.

LST plants grow more growth tips because.
1) more light to lower branches where the growth tips and new branches form.
2) the lower branches will now be higher than the main growth tip and thus will become new main growth tips. The plant wants to grow vertical.

Some plants can take more abuse then others.. but they can all take a bit of bending and stuff..

I went to the dollar store to get my stuff... using rubber wire from last year and some chop sticks for stakes to wrap the wire around..

If you LST a plant and create multiple tops and such, once it starts to fatten up, or maybe even before, will it require sticks and stuff to be supported?

all depends on the plant.. the bubba kush I have usually grows thick stems.. a head band I had last year was just flimsy..

All depends on the grower. If u like the idea of having more colas rather than one fat cola on top, then yes, it's very beneficial. U gotta remember tho, plants, like humans, respond differently to stress. Some plants love it and thrive, while some plants may not. All depends on the strain ur growing. So far, I have compared lst vs vertical and I must say that lst is the best way to not stress ur plants out too much.

Both plants are the exact same age, just one has been lst'd. Either way, I'm happy I get to grow my own Meds. Just keep practicing and u will get it down. Lst is not rocket science, either ur plant will love it, or she will let u know quickly that she don't. And yes, if u do not have a strong enough branch system, u may need to add some stakes to help u hold up those buds once they start putting on weight. Keep up the good work and u will be very happy, 1) cause u grew it so be proud of it, 2) it's urs to smoke. So when shes ready to harvest, pack a bowl like u never packed one before, and enjoy the fruits of ur labor. Happy growing, and aloooooooooojahz.

Oh yeah, by doing lst, ur pretty much doing a scrog without utilizing nets. All the nets do for a scrog is to allow the grower to weave the heads thru so the lower branches can catch up to the main, just like lst. Ur simply allowing all the heads to grow vertical together, das why when u do a scrog, u get an even canopy and more colas. Scrogs work well if u get planny space, lst works well if u no more planny space. Either way, I like em both. If I had the space, I would love to do a scrog. One day;)
