what do you think

I posted these in harvest and curing and have yet to get much feedback so please enlighten me with your opinions. I hav a pounder from auto seeds they say 70 to 80 days from seed I'm at 90+. Trichs are mostly cloudy with exception for a few amber and clear. Also a jock horror auto from nirvana they say 7-9 weeks of flower, trichs are mostly the same but I also think this one could go a little longer. Hairs look more receded on the pounder than jock horror to me but please tell me what you think.

I've never found receding and/or dying/dead pistils a good indicator or maturity or peak ripeness. Go by the trichs you are already viewing. As to length of flower on "short" autos I grew out 10 Vertigo from Paradise Seedss (it is inappropriately named the weak ass shit) and it went 70 days before they were more or less done. They claim 55 days "weed to seed". Only if you apply some of that bullshit to their seeds I guess.

Again I have found the trichs the absolute most reliable indicator for THC effect. I have personally let one go to let the calyxes keep swelling and had it actually degrade on the plant and kind of quickly too. Everything in the plant is by chemistry that is affected mostly by light/dark. Once a process begins it is hard to make it stall or reverse it. Revegging is a good example of that.

I normaly wait until the majority of the trich's turn milky some amber. Get a 30x mag. Cost about 10 bucks. I never go by just looking. You could always cut her short a week or two. At worst she could be over done. Once the trich's turn mostly amber shes over done as far as I think. down grading your buds because the trich's are drying out in life. If your looking to sell by weight and don't care about cuality then let her swell. But people won't be happy. Quality over weight. I alway say! Good looking plus rep!

Jloi I have a pocket scope w/ a light, woohoo, it's 60x-100x maybe a little overkill but as I mentioned before majority are cloudy with having some still clear and amber but I think harley is taking the cake here so I think I'll give them a couple more days, see if I can get some more cloudy, while closely examining and then chop them. I mean I would like to "donate" some of it but I would rather have better quality than more weight.

HOT ROD is nailing it for you......Pistles only indicate that the plant is coming to its end...Trichombs are the true indicator of ripeness.....Clear Trichs.....heady buzz.... Milky Trichs.....a little head, a little body.....Amber Trichs.....mostly body......BUT there are some strains that may vary some with this rule And JLoi is absolutly correct.....as a grower...Quality is always no 1 in my book.....what good does it do you to have ten pounds of bunk weed!
