Going to keep stretching another 1-3 weeks, closer to one then three but there are exceptions. As they stretch keep pulling ur buds sites under the screen and move them outwards. Idea is to have as wide and flat as canopy as possible. In my experience once you start to see flowers developing on the tops the stretch is ALMOST over.

So basically in the last week of stretch stop tucking or right up until the end of stretch. Do they grow upwards after the stretch because I would want at least 6-8 colas by the end of flowering

Your "cola's" grow horizontally by tucking further and further outwards on the screen. All the "secondary" buds that would have just grown to a small bud forming the cola it grows vertically into its own little "cola". You should have way more then 6
