what do you find disrespectful?

oh and you think its easy finding a job right now? i work there because, for the most part, tipping is apart of American culture (except with minorities who are the worst tippers) and people need to realize that. just because the economy sucks, doesnt mean you can skimp on the tip, it means you shouldn't be going out to eat in the first place.
Um, I always tip my waiters, usually 20% unless the service was bad, but I ALWAYS tip. Because that's how my minority family raised me, so :finger:

I've bought $5 Fajitas and tipped my waitress a ten spot. All about the attitude and the service.Used to get comped at the Casinos in lake Charles and was nothin to tip em a C note. They do rely on that extra income.

Ugh..Okay, I always tip when I go to a server style restaurant, but it's aggravating to me that a lot of people seem to think that we're OBLIGATED to tip them just because they were our waiter/waitress. I have worked in a server style restuarant, not as a waitress but still. Those girls make good money, better than what I made, always walked out with $75 + in their pocket while I walk out with nothing until paychecks are issued. Those people make a lot more than most people would think and (under most circumstances) if they would budget it right, they could have it pretty nice. And the work they do does NOT warrant them anything. They have the same job as anyone else in the restaurant-the standing around and carrying things. That's what I have to say about that, and now my other peeves.

People who don't acknowledge their cashier (which is what I do now). I understand if you don't feel like talking, but when I say "Hi, how are you today?" At least say something, otherwise I'm going to think you're rude for standing at the counter all that time and not saying one word to me.

People who put their money or change on the counter and expect you to pick it up. Several times I've been tempted to leave it there until they hand it to me, or put their change on the counter and let them pick it up. If you're not going to show the respect to me, why should I show it to you? But alas, it's my job so I have to.

It's stupid, but I hate to repeat jokes. It's more of a personal thing than anything else, it's like, if I have to repeat it then it's not funny anymore and I don't want to bother.

Obama. This m'f' could have given everyone in the country over the age of 18 a million dollars and he would have spent less money and would have stimulated our economy a lot more than all this other stuff.

People on welfare, food stamps, hud, etc. I totally understand that there are some people out there who just can't do for themselves. But then there are other people who can, but won't. Mostly because they're lazy. When I have to go without food sometimes and I see people coming into the store and buying cart loads of food and then paying for it with the EBT card and it's prints the receipt and you see that these people have HUNDREDS of dollars on those cards. I hope you take 10% of that and buy food and donate it to a pantry or a shelter or something because that's ridiculous.

Longer than I thought and there are more that just aren't coming to my mind right now, but those are the big ones.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that lower paid and lower class people tip more than the rich anus's. In general, like a few bucks for any kind of tip'able service.

I've even found that out from people at my job. And I see all kinds, and by all kinds, I'm pretty damn sure the Dalai Lama just came in today at our other location down the way... and I'm not kidding. People are still walking in asking about why secret service and bomb sniffing dogs were all over. EDIT: Yep, he did come in today http://www.dalailama.com/page.60.htm september 25-26

Some regular middle class guy will tip me before some business douche will. Happens a lot.

Other than that, if your service is tip'able, I'll gladly toss some in there... always have been that way. Because I love tips and I know they get stoked as fuck and appreciate it as much as I do.

I tip my clinics every time I get weed and what happens to me at my job? This guy comes in twice a week, tips everyone working that shift a $100 personally.

Give and get back. I love it.

Went to Sonic during happy hour once, bought a Route 44 dr. pepper which came to $1.10, had a bit of change in my pocket and was feeling generous. Gave the car hop a 50 and told her to keep the change. She started to pass me the bills and I was like, no, all the change. She stared at me for a moment and then was like "Are you serious?" And I was like yeah man, thanks for the drink. She was so happy she was like dang you must've known I needed money. I just smiled, I like to give my money away, not have it taken by people who expect something.

Being financially responsible is important. Being attached to your money is not.

Give, ask, receive. It's that easy. Yes, some are not deserving but most are.

My parents have owned a bar/restaurant and I have waitered and was a bartender there since I could remember. The thing that pissed me off the most was when I was bartending and I made some one a thousand drinks and they did not give me a dime. It pissed me off to no end, I was about to choke someone. Especially those bastards that bought the most expensive drinks and made me make a really annoying drink for girls they wanted to impress and still did not tip me. One guy had the nerve to come up to me and tell me that I should give him free drinks so he would tip me, who does a guy like that think he is, why the hell should I give him free drinks. He was not even a regular, and I knew all regulars by face, if not name. You just do not go to a bar you went there the first time and talk that crap. Some days you just need to choke a bitch.

See, now that's crap. If you take up so much of someone's time, especially on b/s stuff, you should at least pay them for it.

Unfortunately those types of people are the new youth douches who are just trying to be cool to impress their
twat girl friends. They have no money, they just act like they do, so to avoid going bankrupt in one go and not have any gas to get back home, he doesn't tip you.

Sucks man :blsmoke:

I found that woman in general are the best tippers, rarely do I serve them and not get tipped. I love when I have a douce bag come up to me and order a thousand drinks from me, and not tip me, then have the girl he is with tip me her self. I always make sure to give her a little bit more her next round. Guys like that do not understand tipping is a good thing in front of woman, I knew this when I was bar tending at 17.

This has only happened to me once, but it really pissed me off. I was on a blind/double date with a girlfriend (her boyfriend and his best friend) at a restaurant where we both knew a lot of the staff. We didn't know our server, but we knew others, and the bartender.

Anyways, at the end of the meal the guy insisted on paying for me. I wanted to pay for myself, because we just met, he wasn't my boyfriend, and I just didn't think he should have to pay for me. But he kept insisting and I didn't want to make a big deal out of it, so I let him, but I said that I would cover the tip. Since I had planned on paying for myself in the first place, I left a BIG tip. Me and my girlfriend excused ourselves to the bathroom and the guys met us in the front.

Next day I see someone I know from the restaurant and they hit me up about last night, asking if we didn't like the server or something...pretty much I end up finding out that the waitress didn't get the tip I left. Say our bill was $100 and I tipped her $30...she only got $10. Not just a smaller tip than I left, but not even the normal percentage!

I was pretty pissed. Livid is probably more accurate.

Another thing that I find really annoying is when people have to bring up their sex life in every god damn conversation. I have a bunch of friends that do this, I wish they would understand that most people do not care, I sure as hell do not. I really hate it when people do it when I am high. Now there are those times where there is actually a funny story to go with it, something like parents walking in on you, while almost blinding a girl during a bj (this happened to a guy I knew, its horrible but hilarious). But just telling me your everyday normal stories, do not really care.

Damn that man sounds like a jackass, hope your not with him:smile:

But i'd have to agree with the person who talked about people on welfare. I remember my father used to have this girlfriend who was on welfare for no goddamn reason. She would even talk about it to her children about how she has never needed a job, because she got a check in the mail and food stamps. There was nothing wrong with this lady except for that fact that she was fat, but i felt like drop kicking the bitch sometimes when i just heard her talk.

Howbout when coworkers expect you to cover a shift on one of your days off?

Like, it's cool sometimes. But say I just don't feel like it, or whatever, I really feel like I shouldn't have to give them a reason, "will you cover my shift?"..."nah, I really don't want to..."... -that should be the end of it... But I always get the "aww, come on.." "aww..why not?"..."PLEEEEEEASE!!"... I seriously hate that shit.. then when you're like "nah dude..." (a little more firm and direct...) YOUR the dick for not doing it...

That shit's pretty annoying...

This is classic. They had scheduled me to work a day when I had a class to go to for the last 2 hours of my shift, well, I'd been sick for a week or so so I'd already missed 2 classes so instead of missing another one, I asked this girl if she would come in and cover the 2 hours for me, she said yeah, no problem. The day I needed off was Sunday (wasn't a class but a study group that was mandatory) and I asked this girl on Wednesday when the schedule came out. I was off Friday and Saturday and I get to work on Sunday and I see that this girl had quit! I was a little upset because she didn't tell me or anything, and then by the time I found out on Sunday, it was too late to find somebody else so I had to do the whole shift. Made me mad that she didn't even have the decency to tell me, or to take it upon herself to find someone else. After I give a shift away, I don't consider it my shift. So it was her shift, and she should have found someone. But oh well, that was like a week ago. Pretty much over it for the most part but it was aggravating.

Oh yeah dude, I can totally relate to that...

Same shit pretty much happened to me. Gave the shift away, or switched I don't remember.. But then when it came time for me to cover for the co worker, no problem, done deal... then I'm layin there, sleeping in, enjoying it because I don't have to wake up... then work calls ME and tells me to come in.. I'm like "I switched, wtf, that's not on me...shit... lol..." Then they call the bitch in...
