They won't get three times as high but I would do both, top them now, give another week and then flower.

get a fan on those plants 24/7 to strengthen the main stem and branches
so you can support those huge buds your going to get

i'd start flowering now, even if you top them
far better to be a bit smaller for your grow space, as opposed to being too big

i would definetaly consider tieing them a bit, and start flowering now. the fan is a must, small fan will do. I also concurr with howhighru, you need a stronger light, what are you running now? hope this helps and they are looking pretty good.

I don’t know whose Big Bud he is growing but this is part of Sensi Seed’s description of Big Bud; "While growing Big Bud stays compact but will stretch if left unattended and can triple in size at the change of the light cycle." It also says "110cm to 150cm." That is 3.6ft. to 4.9ft.

So he has 3 feet of growing height and he vegged to 1½ feet tall.

If they only double he’s out of room.

My plants normally come closer to tripling in size than doubling. My last run was 4 mixed strains.

I vegged until one was 21 inches, one was 18 inches (1½ feet) and two were 20 inches. When finished the shortest one was exactly 60 inches, two more were slightly over and the one that was 21 inches tall ended up over 72 inches tall.

Roughly 20 inches to 60 inches or more …. that’s tripling and that is more common to me than doubling in height.

He needs to increase his lighting. He is growing a strain that is at least indica dominant but his plants have pretty wide nodal spacing and that is from lack of adequate lighting. He doesn’t have enough light for a 1½-foot tall plant let alone a 3-foot tall one.

He needs to think about topping at the least and maybe LST or something to keep those things down to what will be a manageable size for him.
