What did you think of marijuana as a kid?

After reading of jacksonthrees post i was reminded of all the anti marijuana commercials as a kid and how wrong they are. When i was around under 10 years old i thought marijuana was a drug and drugs are bad. I didnt know marijuana was a plant and saw it as something as harmfull as crack or heroin. Today i have to laugh when they show what a joint looks like, both ends kind of twisted and pinched together as shown in my own little anti drug drawing:



What did you used to think?

When I was a child I was given the impression marijuana was like all the other drugs. Eventually you would end up dead from a over dose. Thats Funny

i always thought it was bad. everyone used to tell me it would kill me if i was to try it. but i guess they were wrong =] i love it. People these days are stressin too much, they just need to chill aand smoke. really ease there mind.

I always thought you would be an outcast.

When dealing with the goverment and you lie on a peice of paper like va benifiets or disability it's over no matter what even if it was a mistake. Lieing is their cardinal rule for us. The double standard is they very seldom tell us the truth.

I always thought it would make you grow old. Its true, it does. *lol*

my dad always told me "son, marijuana is a gateway drug. its not that its bad for you, but it can lead to other things that are." I never really believed him, especially after finding his "stash"

i thought it was baddd, at least thats what my d.a.r.e officer taught me. i think the reason why i believed him then was the large amount of pizza and soda they bribed me with at the pizza parties. i fukkin love pizza.......and bong rips now haha.

I think it was being stashed there, cuz there were like 4 or 5 pipes in the bag, a large black trashbag to be exact.

I remember a few years back, me and some other guys that just got out of the joint stashed a bag of weed,,,,,,, but ours was in a trash bag and it was black,, so anyway the cops were coming so we had to stash it on the side of the hyway,, hell,, we even had to put our pipes in there too,, man,,, Id kill to find out who the hell took that sh1t,,,,, so,, on a lighter note does anyone know if we can find out info on a fellow RIUer?????????..........

When i was a kid i though it was bad and a gateway drug, but i didnt think it was as bad as crack or cocaine. Thought that way till i was 22, and i been "in love with Maryjane ever sense...

my parents smoked, and i was taught from a young age that "was okay and cigarettes were bad for you; but you cant tell anyone about because it is illegal." i always said i would never smoke as a kid b/c my parents always smoked and it didnt seem to do anything to them, so i thought it was useless. then i got high for the first time and i was enlightened.

I always thought Marijuana is bad mmmmk.... Until I found my brothers pipe in his desk when I was around 13, God did the bud smell good in that pipe. I still remmeber that day. From then on I laughed at comercials while smoking a J.
Marijuana is anything but a drug.
My brother still denies he ever had that pipe! I call bullshit on him everytime.

Because of irresponsible politicians like the reagans who imposed the "JUST SAY NO" mentality i too assumed marijuana plants were destroyers of lives. but when i tried it i realized i was not dead, or retarded, or now homeless as a result of smoking a plant that has grown since the beginning of time. you know i bet dinosaurs searched for marijuana to eat. haha. anyways im not religious but i say WWJD. would he ingest man made synthetic pills that are no better for you than the chemicals under your kitchen sink. or would he smoke a plant that not only eases pain and suffering but has never killed a single person.....aspirin cannot even say that.
