What carbon filter to get?

Okay so I have a 4x4x6 wooden grow box, I was thinking just buying one of those cheap carbon filters with the inline fan and the ducting and the carbon filter on the end. I was wondering what cfm the inline fan would have to be? Also I need a cheap way to cool the air and a way to get fresh air to the plants?? or do i not do that with grow box

i have a 4 inch inline w/ speed controller and a large carbon filter. i would recommend the speed controller to dial in the amount of air movement and noise. without it it was loud.

using a box that is 4x4x5 and on low on the speed dial gives me the correct amount of air / noise.


side note: i could be wrong but im pretty sure its better to suck through the carbon filter then try and push air through it. using a pre filter and sucking air through it instead of pushing should keep debris out of the inside and make ur filter last longer.

i plan to connect 4' duct tubing to the inline and then to the carbon filter causing the air to be sucked through the filter, then into the fan, and have some tubing on the other side connecting to a exhaust cover that is outside the box.

whats the cfm of the fan? I don't really care about how much noise it makes, It is underground.

You have 96 cubic feet of space, I run a 4" mountain air carbon filter in my 3x3x6. Its rated at 200 cfm and it works wonders. And yes you need to bring in fresh air.
