What are these spots and am I too crowded?

The first pic is of the chem 91 the other two are boss Hogg and amnesia which haven't been affected at all. Some of the new leaves are showing signs. Even though I dialed the nutes down to half strength I am going to flush for a few days and see what happens. If it doesn't improve I'll add some calmag. Would I need both? I already have a magnesium/sulfur corrector

I'm back... 91 chem is still showing spots while none of my others are... posting more pics before I flush again. I was reading in another thread that chem is sensitive to calmag deficiencies but I don't want to contribute to a lockout if that's what is going on. Thoughts on whether its lockout or nute burn?
IMHO
I think if all your plants were showing the same symptoms, and 2 are better, 1 is better, but not yet recovered. Im tempted to think its still lockout.
It still looks really quite dark green. Leaves wont be dark like that with deficiency.
Nitrogen, is an antagonist for calmag, and the three are essential for chlorophyll. If there's an excess of Nitrogen, its really hard to belive its deficiency, if you've been supplementing calmag.
There'd be pale yellowing, everywhere if it was deficiency :peace::peace:

That helps a lot to understand and I agree, they are really green. Two of them never showed any signs but I am reading how finicky chem 91 is. The other two are looking great despite a little light burn. Thank you all for the feedback...

How long should I flush for? It's been three days with cyco kleanse and I leave tomorrow for a week. Would 4 days be too short and would 12 days be too long?

It just depends.
If its on the mend, or getting better. It should be fine man.
I wouldn't worry too much mate.
Im sure they'll be fine. All good.
Imho, if they're still green etc. I think just leaving the res. Without the flushing solution.
In my opinion fill the res clean etc, with a little less feed/ppm, than you were feeding before.
Then close the door, cross your fingers, and toes. Then go enjoy your time away.
:peace:
Happy easter :bigjoint:

thanks for the update and descriptions... i am away until this weekend but will try to characterize when i get back home. the boss hogg is way stinkier/more flavorful than the 91 so far. and the amnesia is also super potent with major trichomes extending out on the fan leaves... i'll shoot some updated pics too. i am at 35-38 days depending on the plant, so we're at the same stage.

As an update, I came back and noticed more spots, browning and yellowing. The second and fourth pictures are new damage to the boss hogg and amnesia. The first picture is the chem 91 which seems maybe a little bit better, but not really. I want to add a PK booster since I'm about 3 weeks from harvest but dont want to do anymore damage.

Just to recap i flushed for 4 days and then went with a quarter strength of nutrients for 7 days. The water level dropped about half and the ph measured at 6.0 when I got back and checked today. The RH has been 57-66% and the temp has been 73-81. I'm watering 3x a day.

In terms of flavors, the boss Hogg stands out the most. It smells like an orange creamsicle with some diesel fuel undertones... The original amnesia smells just as strong, but no particular smell pops out at me right now. The chemdog is probably the least smelliest. I can smell some faint fuel and its covered in trichs, but it was also the last to throw flowers.

Looking good.
How close are those tops to your lights?
It's unusual to have leaves looking like that, at top canopy.
Usually damage like that is at the bottom. Not the top.
They look quite dry and crisp too?

I always thought when problems start at the top then you have root problems? Like root rot or root lock? I could be way off though.

Not sure of the canopy temps just that the overall temperature in the tent is 81 degrees. The tops are 12-18" from the bulb but about 6-8" from the glass of the reflector. I put my hand underneath and it doesn't seem too hot, but I'm not sure how accurate that is. The leaves that are affected aren't at the very top or at the bottom... they're in the middle. New growth seems fine. And it's not consistent some parts of the affected plants are fine with all green leaves.

I'd say 81 is just OK. It's pushing it a little.78 or so, would be ideal.
6-8 inches away from the canopy, is pretty close. How powerful, is your light?
The affected plants, and the colas in your photos. Are they directly under your light?

If there's a lot of light energy, even if the temps are right. The excess light energy , that's unused, heats the surface area of the leaves. That's why it's important to hang a thermometer at your canopy. Even though your room temps are OK, the surface area of the canopy may be higher than 81.

I am running a 600w and I know there's too much light (around 80,000 lux in some areas). What should I do? Would a PK booster be a bad idea? What strength nutrients should I go with at this point?

I'm sorry dude. It's really hard to say.
If there are too many nutrients, and extra light too. It will damage/dry the tops. Because it's where most water is evaporating.
It really is a bit of trial and error, if it's a bit of both.

You said you flushed for four days. When you were. Did they perk up at all, or get better?

Yeah, I wasnt expecting as much stretch as I got. The light is only really strong in a couple of places. I am getting 40000-60000 lux in most areas. When I flushed the 91 chem seemed to respond but I never had issues with the other two. I also switched out a bulb that had dimmed out a bit. I guess I have too many things going on.

I think I am going to stick to a dialed down nute solution including a little PK and hope the damage will be limited to the colas that are getting too much light.

Good luck man.
You got some pretty decent smoke either way.
Almost out of the clear.
Best wishes mate :peace:
