What are the best strains for bipolar disorder?

I know there's an old thread about this, but it wasn't all that helpful. What little I can find around the web seems to reference Silver Haze and Super Silver Haze a lot, and I was wondering if anyone here has had personal experience with this strain. Also, if anyone else is self-medicating for this, which strains have been most helpful for you personally during different types of episodes?

the bi polar one for me it all depends on the type u are

i am a rage type i do not implode i explode ..........depressed to the to point where can not wake up out of bed or a rage monster willing to kill a person at the drop of a hat

so i like the strong THC .......it keeps me from looping and getting angrier i can let things go .........given this i can not take a bong hit until after i eat my food for the day

Im not bipolar myself. I wanted to start learning best strains for nuerological disorders.
oh that is easy

because of our heads the chemicals are out of wack ............so weed effects us differently then the normal high school stoners

strains with CBDs in them are our friends the narco i linked yah has a 1.6%.....CBDs are a huge anti crazy drug along with others in the plant ......the THC content for someone like me needs to be HIGH i am talking 18% or more ........this is what will distract me from looping i can let things go and as focus the ADHD

here u go
http://www.crazymeds.us/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/MedClass/MoodStabilizers
this is what they put most bi polar ppl on just read the shit is scarey and messed up .............hence why weed works well for us and epilepsy
http://www.leafscience.com/2014/02/23/5-must-know-facts-cannabidiol-cbd/
http://www.projectcbd.org/
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cannabinoid

for me they would have me on a heavy dose cocktail because my system will adapt to it so it no longer has a effect.....as some point and time it kills my mind completely i am a yes zombie ........the side effects at higher doses can become permit and i got a few from 10 years on the pills

with weed and the variable of what ratio the chemicals are in my system does not have time to adapt i never smoke the same strain more then a couple days in a row ......i normally have 4 to 6 different kinds on me .......i have used weed now for 13 years instead of the pills

Bipolar 1 here, and anything heavy enough to get rid of the mania. Like ogs, romulan, gods gift, sour d, bubba

I have Bi-polar 2 disorder and find a pure Hindu Kush works well for my anxiety and mood swings. It is a very soothing high, without making you into jell-o on the couch. Finishes fast, Wonderful potency, but not devastating. I personally don't like anything that makes me paranoid, and I hear some hazes can do that. We grew a Speed Haze (SSH x J.Herer) last year and it did make me a bit paranoid, but the quality was not outstanding imo. Maybe another run from a reputable breeder would prove otherwise. I have a Delicious Seed's : Critical SSH feminized just waiting to be popped. Overall, I like gentle uplifting sativas, and calming, sedating indicas. I plan on working with some Landrace strains from both. We currently have Druga Mata II (CBD strain) & Amnesia nearing 28 days in. My HK is from Homegrown Fantaseeds PS- Pictured is the Kush female, just after topping, about 10 days ago. Try Strawberry Cough for daytime (excellent anti-depressive) and HK for bedtime > :joint: <

Hello CK here :) I, myself suffer from a list neurological and auto immune type issues. After using Western Winds from Sagarmatha, which if you do the research is the same strain as the Kali Mist from Serious seeds just cheaper, I have been a new woman. I was diagnosed with a degenerative type of neuropathy two years ago...the nerve pain was sometimes unbearable. I had little short term memory. I can't stand with my eyes closed, was even falling. I was 33. And no one still knows what or why. But I can tell you I was not an adult smoker. It made me kind of sick. Until I was sick. I would like to mention Kali Mist while more expensive has a following and is claimed by many to be superior to Western Winds. (Kali Mist is on my "to grow" list :) but for me the WW experience was the most liberating Sativa experience it controlled pain and allowed me to think clearly again, and so much more. I was also was retested 3 weeks ago stuck like a voodoo doll to be told I no longer have neuropathy. And my preliminary retest for a paralyzation disorder HPP I was apparently born with but didn't have on set till adult hood seems to have disappeared. And I have medical documentation. Im either really lucky or MAYBE cannabis really does something with those canabanoid receptors we all have in our bodies :) #thisishowwecreatechange.

@Jimmyjonestoo
the Narco is the best i found for this the cbd is a nice mix with a 21%thc plant
https://www.cannabis-seeds-bank.co.uk/cream-of-the-crop-seeds-narcotherapy-auto/prod_4512.html
the other 2 i liked was the BioDiesel Mass and THC bomb
https://www.cannabis-seeds-bank.co.uk/advanced-seeds-biodiesel-mass/prod_3646.html
https://www.cannabis-seeds-bank.co.uk/bomb-seeds-auto-thc-bomb/prod_4400.html

the bio has a taste i like and 17% is good effect on me
the THC bomb is possible the strongest i had ever made
and the Narco well that is just the shit i am ordering 10 more seeds ........i am going to give yumbolt a try too i hear good things about that strain
https://www.cannabis-seeds-bank.co.uk/cbd-seeds-auto-yumbolt/prod_3966.html

as u see they are all autos .........that is what i grow so i can keep the strains altering and try several a year instead of a maximum of 12 15 a year with photos

i have done most of the first page of Autos from there

I have had Blue Dream and Romulan in the past, and agree they're good for sleep and anxiety. Really, as far as mania goes, ANYTHING helps. I'm also really looking for something for the depression. I know a lot of shrinks think depression and weed shouldn't be mixed, but experience has taught me that they're just full of crap. It's what gets me out of bed and moving on really bad days, and semi-productive on the better ones. Unfortunately, I've just been getting mids most of the time for years now, and I'm a little tired of it because I never know what kind of high I'm going to get, and the last thing I need is paranoia or the munchies. Well, I can deal with the latter, but when I'm depressed I gain weight anyway. So since I've built up a tolerance anyway, I want to look into finding something that will work well consistently, because the depression will return. It always does.

If you find a particular strain that staves off the depression, please share. I find I can't smoke when I'm really down because weed (like alcohol) just intensifies my mood at the time. So if I'm feeling depressed, the weed makes me feel even more depressed.

Any CBD stuff would probably be cool. Also I find I like LA confidential and crosses of it. Has a real nice mellow medicating high like that Hindu Kush you were talking about. Try a CBN patch if they're available to you during anxious moments. Those things work miracles for calming. My girl has bi-polar and takes depacote(spelling?) which is a actually anti-seizure med. Only cuz lamictal, while it works wonders for her mood, gives her a bad reaction. My theory was that since CBD also helps with seizures, apparently better with other cannabinoids mixed in, then CBD weed was the best for her. With some supplemental mood regulating stuff like CBN patch n cream or whatever else and some sleepy time weed, and some good tea, that it all would help.

I'm on Lamictal as well. it's weird how anti-seizure meds work as mood stabilizers. It makes me wonder if bipolar disorder might also be at least partially caused by an electrical problem in the brain just like seizure disorders. It kind of makes sense, because there's a strain of cannabis called "Charlotte's Web" that is supposed to work wonders on children with severe epilepsy.

Did you go to www.leafy.com for information on medical marijuana strains? How was the Nacro Therapy? it is an auto?, correct - did you like it?
no i did not use that site i use
http://en.seedfinder.eu/database/

yes it is a auto plant ........i personally love it does wonders for me ....the other ppl have requested it too so my next grow is 3 nacro's and 1 yumbolt ....i grow auto plants because the turn around is faster i have a plant in 75 days compared to 150 days

they do not make meds for bipolar ........all the meds we take are ment for something else but they seem to have a effect on us
most mood stabilizers are just anti epileptic anti convulsion
http://www.crazymeds.us/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/MedClass/MoodStabilizers

hence why weed works well for us ..............u just need to find the right balance of THC and CBD and then find like 6 strains that do it for u so u are changing what u smoke around or mixing 2/3 kinds for the effect u want
