ok i dnt mean litterally laying a big wet log in ur grow room lol! i mean ive got some 12" long round log's cut down the centre, there a few years old and very absorbant. ive put them in some boiling water to kill anything that might be living in them and now have them soaking in clean/cold water.
my Question is: How long should i soak them for and has anybody had noticeable resulsts in raising humidity this way?

tyvm

I grow shitakes with those under t8 lights that aren't very bright at about 80 degrees room temperature. The humidity stays pretty low in there, I wouldn't be able to prove it but I would say maybe a 3 percent increase in rh, maybe? It just doesn't feel much more humid in there.

How would a towel hanging in a 5 gallon bucket of water work? Fill the bucket with water, suspend the towel leaving the bottom touching the bottom of the bucket and the rest in the air.....I would be a giant wick. In theory it would work (depending on the size of your grow room).

Just a thought! ~Outlaw~

Thats an idea. I would put a fan oscillating over it too. As long as you are above around 70 degrees f than it would definitely work. You just need extra heat for the evaporation to occur. I was wondering though, why do you want higher humidity? I have seen many sources cite data that says heat and dryer air cause more thc to be produced.

The fact that your putting a LOG in shouldnt have anything to do with humidity going up. Its just simply another way of putting something in the room that holds water that can evaporate

yes, but a wet log would surely last alot longer, be less hassle, take up less space than most things ( got them on the edge of my pots ) be less messy and easier to change... tbh i dnt like having a big buket of water next to electrical equipment either
