Yes, i should have known. But just as you have your pet peeves, i have mine. ;)
I have thought long and hard about the question of universal legality for all drugs. Most believe either that pot is the only drug that should be leglized for because of the mindset they have. I rarely encounter drug evangelists on the scale and level I do with pot evangelicals (no, not even the Acid fanatics). But the problem is always the same, when there is refinement of something natural, or the substance is divorced from ritual or cultural relevence it tends to cause problems. The thing is that if, oh, say opium were allowed to be used and grown in this society, someone would take the initiative and.... refine it, finally, yes they might even treat the result with acetic anhydride (if they could get their aquisition through DEA channels).


I've asked the question of hundreds - and with it I ask "well how about anabolic steroids", wherupon most of those who are in favor of releasing the ban on other illicit substances tend to balk.

I also hope you know I don't judge a drug by its "naturalness". Irukandji toxin is 100% natural, but not a recommended buzz.

As for drug evangelists, ... if LSD were still generally available, I could see an awful lot of, uhm, visionary philosophy out there. Imo that mantle has been picked up by the DMT crowd, with McKenna and Hancock as its prophets. cn

I watched a DMT documentary where they had very educated people like medical doctors, psychiatrists, professionals, College professors, etc etc. none of them were less than 40 years old. The most common thing said by each person was that it was to most profound experience of their lives.

Smoked it. I haven't tried ayahuasca and don't really have the nerve to, at my age and ~lol~ station in life ...

...and I would not have needed to go to Amazonia. I had access once to harmaline and harmine, and I knew a guy who had B. caapi sections ... cn
