Just got a call from the owner of the company. She's invited Seamaiden and I to a Republican political event/cocktail party in Sacramento on Thursday evening. It's a formal event and I don't know the specifics yet. Could get...umm....interesting to say the least.

Yeah, especially if you say something about John McCain being a commie, actually if they are Republicans they probably already know that, and wish that McCain wasn't on the ticket.

Wear a Re"love"ution pin. Paul's still a Repub. I'd avoid the "Paul for Pres." pin, though. Wouldn't want to rock the boat. Not when free drinks are at stake.;-)

Never know, it may be a farewell party for a bunch of employees. Since you were invited, I'd be suspicious to say the least. "have a cocktail and BTW here's your last paycheck, no need to show up on Monday" "Thanks for your hard work," "Our contract has been terminated, cost cutbacks." "Bye now".

Nah....I just fired one of my techs this last Friday after 35 years. I think this might be a payback for a job well done.

Hey, throw on the Birkenstocks and the "McGovern for President" pin. You'll be a riot.

Yes he is, and if any of the Repubs ask me who I support as POTUS I'll tell them. I'll also explain that I can't support a candidate that has voted to increase the deficit to 11 trillion dollars as it goes against one of the fundamental tenets of what was once the Republican Party that I knew and loved. I also can't support a candidate that voted for the bailout...this little thing called the Constitution and all, ya know?

Seamaiden and will most likely quiz these folks about their stances on constitutional issues. Who knows...it just might be fun.

For me, the ultimate question is this.......

Is the probable collapse, and possible eventual rebuilding of our economy/country, the best hope for regaining Constitutional precepts?

If my answer had been yes, I'd stay home next Nov. 4th. No matter how often I mulled the question, the answer was always the same. No, it's not. I don't believe bankruptcy is the solution. I'd rather hold it off as long as possible. Hindsight is 20/20, as they say. We'll see........Go McCain.
