That's for sure... weight talks, bullshit walks :) I did my last grow hps+led and they looked great but yields sucked... going back to supersoil + led for now so I can go back to harvesting 4+oz/plant of airbuds :) Hoping for on a new all time high yield on this next one just on LEDs.

Agreed! Thats crazy I thought HPS+LED would rock all the way around.. it was something I was looking into trying. LED's will definitely always have a spot in my garden though as long as I can continue to pull virtually as much out of the LED tents as I can with a 600w HPS.

well it's just a theory but i think i had an issue with one of my light timers coming on during dark period in the last 3 weeks... so i think that's more responsible for the low weight... i'm gonna do a comparison grow with the 600w after the current flower plants are done with the same super soil + air pots and same cuts to compare.

wejuana , as someone with lots of experience with different kinds of lighting whats your opinion on Induction lighting? i'm currently running a small cabinet with a blackstar 4spot chrome, and a 200w california lightworks solarflare , but i'm going to need a new light for a new area i'll be expanding to soon and i'm just checking out my options before i just go with a bigger led

What type of induction lighting are you looking into?

As far as my preference goes, I think there is still yet to be an LED which can compete with a 1000w HPS. That being said, it really depends on what size area you are working with. I would not suggest a 1000w for anything smaller than a 4x4x7 area, and some people even believe that's a little too much power for that size area.

If it were me and I was staying in a small grow cabinet, for heat and light purposes I would definitely choose an LED. If it was a larger tent area I would either jump to the 1000w HPS or explore the options of of which LED to use. If that didnt answer your question feel free to PM me and we can discuss specifics.

Sorry for posting multiple posts but RIU only allows 1 video per post.

Once the HPS Showdown finished up, the LED comparison of the Blackstar Chrome and the Penetrator 336X-Pro will resume!

I am using a BS Chrome at 36" on 10 day old from popping above soil. They look great with no stretch. Do you think this is too far from the young plants. (WW fem)

36" should be fine for a newly sprouted plant. If I were you I would keep the light at about 36" until the plant hits 12 inches, and then I would move the light down to 18-24"

Good luck with your grow!

Hey WeJuana, first, thank you for this thread and your first comparison grow which brought me here, it was packed full of information and I genuinely appreciate your methods and efforts. Secondly, when do you think you will be resuming the Chrome Vs. Penetrator grow?

Hi babybull. You are welcome. I want to thank you back for sharing your appreciation because my only goal is to help people by sharing information.

To answer your question, the grow is resuming right now! One light will be showcased at a time with this comparison. First up will be the Blackstar Chrome 720w. After the plants are harvested I will be running the Penetrator 336X-Pro round.

Hey everyone watching, thank you for your patience. The test is officially resumed!

One light will be showcased at a time, and first up will be the Blackstar Chrome 720w

We will begin at day 18 underneath the Blackstar Chrome 720w LED to cut out some of the boring stretch.

I shot this video using color correction and white balance on my new camera, so even though the plants are under LED lighting, they appear in their natural colors. Please let me know if you prefer to see the ladies like this, or under normal LED light... or both.

*To all you RIU producers out there who want to show their ladies off with their natural colors, check out your camera's white balance setting because it works in HPS lighting as well.
