Weird germination

Germing a NL Auto.
Put in glass of water for 24 hours, then transferred to Paper towel.
Total of 48 hours has gone by. Just took a look at it to see the progress and I notices that the shell slightly
cracked open and it appears that a Dark color root is emerging. Dark brown or black.
Is this something to worry about? The paper towel has been kept moist, and inside a plastic bag with plenty of oxygen. Also, the temp has been warm and never hot or cold.

Thanks

could be a fragment of the shell or something. Is it just a tiny little piece poking out? I'd give it some time or plant and see if it pops

It sounds like its just the inner layer of the shell and it is a brownish and dark brown almost black i usually do mine for around 4-5 days and sometimes a week just to be sure the root is strong before planting

I have never had a problem leaving my beans in water. I leave them in until the tap root appears and transplant. 3-4 days sometimes. I have more success this way than any other way I've used.

U can drown seeds u know? 24 hors is way too long, allow 8-12 hors for the seed to sink, then extract to a damp kitchen towel at 25c/77f

Im sorry i should have been more specific i dont do the glass of water when i do mine i just soak a paper towel put the seed on it fold it up put it in a sandwich bag and stick it in a dark place for a few days... i guess my way is slower than the other but i dont have to worry about drowning them

There is nothing to worry, that is how they look at first if you watch closely theres like a dark thing, from there the white root shall spring, leave it a few more days, some seeds take longer to germinate, depends on the conditions they were kept.
