Man I love this show!

I just started watching this show last week. It is awesome to see what the medical scene is like in cali.

Even though they are catching alot of trouble from the feds at the moment. But it is still very interesting.

I have also started watching the show moonshiners. It is pretty crazy! But I hope that weed wars stays up and running.

It is a very educational and postivie show, that shows what alot of the medical industry really is. I thought the episode tonight was kinda

sad seeing all of the sick kids, and the parents that have tried so many things but nothing has worked so they resorted to giving medical

cannabis a try. It is a miracle what the cbd plants can do for certain illnesses.

This show, along with most reality tv shows, is garbage.

First off let me say that I am a med patient. But I grow my own. I do not agree with dispensaries at all. Especially with Harborside, the one on Discovery. All they do is charge outrageous prices for patients medicine. Why pay any more than 10 bucks a gram? I remember before dispensaries started popping up on every corner, I would NEVER pay more than maybe 11 bucks a gram for the finest quality. Thats just how things were.

More importantly, Ive actually watched this show and the owner is very outspoken about NOT legalizing marijuana. NO SHIT!!!!! If it were legalized, his business would no longer exist. But then he tries to portray himself as a caring provider to sick people. IF he were truly compassionate and wanted the best for his patients, he would be pushing for legalization. Why? Because with legalization comes substantial price drops. Thus, patients would be able to acquire their medicine at a very very cheap price. This douche bag, along with most if not all dispensary owners, are in it for the money, despite their efforts to persuade otherwise. On the show, he states that weed should be treated like a vitamin, a health and wellness product. GUESS WHAT? Anyone can buy vitamins!!!!!! That means he wants it to be legal right? WRONG! He states on the show that he is completely against legalization for any means.

The problem with the medical movement is in the title, MEDICAL. I agree that marijuana should be treated like a vitamin. ANYONE SHOULD BE ABLE TO BUY IT REGARDLESS OF INTENT. Yes, marijuana has medicinal purposes. Im not disputing that. But it also is good for recreational use too. And the recreational use of it is far better than any other recreational drug you can use. All the medical movement does is say that marijuana is like any other highly guarded prescription drug, you need to get it from the doctor. But weed is NOT like a prescription drug. You cant overdose, their are minimal side effects, and in all actuality is completely safe to use.

I know im probably going to be crucified for posting this, but I dont care. the MEDICAL movement is wrong. We should not be making exceptions for weed for medicinal reasons.

WE SHOULD BE STANDING UP AND FIGHTING FOR OUR RIGHT TO USE A NATURAL PLANT GIVEN TO US FROM THE EARTH FOR ANY REASON WE SEE FIT! MEDICINAL OR RECREATIONAL!

WHOS WITH ME?

So toaster, you want weed to be "legalized" and then run by our government? I hope you realize that weed will never be a free market. If it is "legalized" it will still be CONTROLLED by the government and only big corporations will be able to produce and distribute it legally. What you have in your mind for legalization will NEVER be a reality. Weed is either going to be controlled by the medical industry, which is mostly the people who started out doing it illegally, have the most experience and often a love for the plant. OR, it will be controlled by the government and corporations (tobacco/pharma) who love nothing and covet profits and only profits. I support the medical model. Fuck legalization. Decriminalization maybe, but not legalization now that bills like 502 and prop 19 (cali) have shown us the direction that the powers that be want to take the industry. Nobody should have to go to prison over a plant, but shit is fucked up and bullshit. Nothing is black and white.

Agreed. Nothing is Black and White. And I know legalization will never be a reality. There are too many people making too much money for it to be legal. If it were completely legal tomorrow, entire economies around the world would likely collapse.

The medical model is a good starting point. Im a med patient. I just cant stand people, especially dispensary owners, who claim that all they want to do is help patients, but have business models and/or attitudes that say otherwise. They wouldnt be helping patients if there was not monetary compensation. Most of todays medical doctors only became a doctor for the money. Very few of them did it just so they can help people.

Lets face it, dispensaries are legal drug dealers that can command higher than street value prices using terms like "medicine" and "donations" for said medicine. Its illegal to sell marijuana, but you can exchange a money "donation" for a "medicine donation". Its just plain ridiculous. I know thats how they keep it quasi legit, but still.

And then to go so far as to glamorize it on some half assed cheese ball reality tv show is just sad. They are only doing so to drum up more customers (notice im using the term customer, NOT patient) Any attempt on their part to portray themselves as compassionate caregivers is nothing but transparent.

At this point in time, weed cannot and will not be legalized. Ever. Its a sad reality. But its a necessary evil. I myself do what I can to help out med patients I know, and thats all I can do. In the mean time, I still believe that regardless of legality, you shouldnt need a doctors recommendation. It should be like a vitamin, any one should be able to self diagnose, purchase, and self medicate.

I still believe that everyone should stand up for the right to use cannabis as a natural resource given to us by the earth. Either for medicine or recreation.

And on a somewhat unrelated topic, I cant stand med patients that are so uptight that they cant refer to their weed as weed, and then constantly correct people who call it weed. Yes, it may be your medicine, but its still weed. If your prescribed oxycontin, would you correct someone calling them oxys? Come on.
