I can't believe it! If you didn't know is leaving us, now you do.
Since all his threads are closed down, I wanted to make one that we can say thanks to Al in. He has contributed to the cause for over a decade and he has given a lot of us hope for a better life, and bigger harvests!

Al, thanks for helping me out buddy! I will miss you! I'm glad you are moving on to bigger better things, but sad to see you leaving us. Your legend will live on forever! I always knew if I had a problem I could ask you and get an answer that was so well described and illustrated with kindergarden artwork that it would answer my next question before I even knew what I was going to ask.

Its for real. I would never joke about something this serious. He got a job as an editor for an unspecified advocacy group on the web. I'm guessing that he is either not going to have anytime to post or his contract won't let him. Either way he is taking off and movin on. No more Stoney McDoper....

Thanks for the pshyciatric support, I almost lost it there... This all caught me by suprise (deep breaths... paper bag crinkling).
Even though I was being sarcastic, this is serious shit for me. I used to ask Al about 10 questions per week for the last 6 months (he probably hates me for bugging him, but I don't care). It was nice having someone with 20 plus years of growing exp. that could share it like he did.
No he is not dead, but in the letter he wrote saying he was leaving, it sounded like he is not planning on coming around here at all. I don't know tho, this place is kind of addictive so u could be right..

Well I'm fairly new to RIU, but Al b. was the first person to really help me with a question. Then I started reading all more of his threads at which point I found out what a weed guru he was/is. Any way he'll be missed by many I'm sure.

Smut or no smut, thats still rude. Thats like the European guy that was telling fdd2blk that he didn't know anything about outdoor grows. A little respect goes along way in life.

For sure he will. He is a legend to me. Everything he did in the grow room had scientific reasoning and simplicity behind it. Before I was helped along by Al, I was setting myself up for a huge disaster!
I was making the most complicated grow room in the world. I thought it was the greatest thing, but it turned out to be in-operable, way too much work, daily. I immediately shit canned all my ideas and built a perpetual sog. Now the only work I do is mix nutes every two weeks and check ph here and there.
