We Need A Soil Forum.

Because a lot of people that are growing in soil are not organic. They are always posting in the organic forum, and I do believe it is causing a lot of confusion, especially for new members. I realize that soils should technically be consider soilless/hydro once chemical ferts hit the roots, but I don't see people posting their Miracle-Gro(ws) in the hydroponics forum. I just think RIU would be better off with a soil forum.

:peace:

I agree with you on that. It would be a better place for questions about pots, mixes, ferts, etc. To keep the info distinguished from hydro. I see a lot of overlap in the organics like you said.

Amen!!! A section that was for "Organic Soil" only. That will AT LEAST let real organic people to get good info. 60% of the time, it's a mixture, and I've wasted my time to help.

That's not what I'm going for at all. Organic doesn't play favorites when it comes to medium. I don't care if you're hand-watering hydroton with guano teas, dripping Earth Juice onto coco, or pre-mixing super-soil; if it's organic then it has a place in the ORGANICS FORUM...... soil or hydro. IMHO we just need to add a SOIL FORUM and that's it. We can put it right there between HYDROPONICS/AEROPONICS and ORGANICS.

Hehe, trying to keep it alive I see. I hope the mods read this, b/c I've been wanting a soil forum. I've been trying to setup a soil SoG, and it's a pain in the ass weeding through the hydro journals to find a decent soil op.
