Just had a very good discussion on this - the news is misleading; What the Supreme Court Judges ruled on was possession of edibles, extracts but they were silent on production/making/distribution - which then means it is still illegal to make/produce and distribute these products. The ruling only pertains to the sections in the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act regarding possession - not on the MMPR.

So there is not yet an opportunity to make these extract products - another court challenge is required. And the government has a year to undertake any new regulations if it desires to do so in this area - and so you can imagine with this government they won't.

So a win of sorts but not completely - only 50%. But in fairness to the Judges, they were only asked to rule on possession of such products.

so how do you get the extracts/edibles if no one can make them?

IMO ... they will make MMPR L.Ps able to produce them.

Which would mean it remains completely illegal to do it at home yourself.

So the lawman still thinks they can lay production charges and get a conviction? Or do they only care about making arrest not convictions? Cuz this ruling says nothing about how were to obtain concentrates. Makes no provisions for lp's to start production. We can only make them or buy them. To me this means the gray market is no longer gray it's white and its legal. Fuck what the cops think. If you get Caught your not getting convicted. And I'd say file a statement of claim afterwards against the police.

I call BS. As a mmar patient and grower, the courts have just ruled I am free to use it in any form. I have read or heard nothing about limiting manufacture to LP's...I'm sure that's what they and Hitler are going to try, but it ain't gonna fly. We are already in court arguing over the affordability of medicine if we can't grow. Adding another roadblock is not going to make things better. There will be a complete rework of cannabis under the cdsa, and a overhaul of the mmpr. The decision from Judge Phelan will further muddy the mmpr program. I expect that ruling very soon and Rona and Steve to use the court rulings as an election ploy to further their cause (whatever that is?). I was listening to Vancouver talk radio on my two hour drive up Island this morning and the conversations were all about pot. Medical and rec, and how it is going to be a hot topic in the coming election.
