Medical is now legal in Michigan....
I've suffered from chronic pain for about 3 yrs due to and accident, and am on disability for said pain. I have jumped through hoops for the past almost 6 months treatment has been legal to get approved by the government to grow and attend the only clinic in michigan to be treated. I received a noticed in the mail today stating that I am not approved for the treatment with no further explaination. According to my doctor I was a very good candidate.
I spoke with her again today and I found out I am among thousands.

My question is why am I and thousands of others here in Michigan, who are ideal candidates being denied this treatment?

In Cali the opposite has happened!
How is this even legal by the definition of the law?

If anyone is familiar with whats going on here in Michigan please respond.

I*know this is little solace, but give it time. As truly great as the Cali laws are now, we voted for prop 215 in 1997 and SB 420 didn't come until 2003. You guys will get it straight just like we did. Really sucks that deserving folks like yourself are having difficulty getting your medicine. Best of luck to you.

look shylas, i live in michigan also, i thought it was very easy to get approved here in mich. here is what i did. first, i went to the medical marijuana dr's website, there you can fill out the info they require. they will contact you within 24-48 hours and tell you to fax over your medical records. i went to my dr's and got copies, brought them over myself, they called me back the next day to set up an appointment, i went there and talked to the dr. and he approved me. very easy. after that you need to send in info to the state for your id card. thats it.

90% of all denials in MI are due to paperwork incompletion. It is VERY easy to obtain one. I have met people, who used their Dr. with no luck. I have met TONS of non-deserving people who got them, using a MMJ Dr.

Check out Dr. Kenewell, he travels the state approving MMJ. You sound well qualified, I guarantee you will get it. He sends the paperwork, properly filled out. So there is no descrepincy.http://www.michiganmedicalmarijuana.org/node/12270

The place I went is here..... http://medicalmarijuanahydroclinic.com/Home_KGSP.html
They are really helpful and patient friendly. If you have your records it's faster, but they can get them for you. It took me just 2 visits. I had my records when I went. It's $200 to the clinic and doctor and $100 to the state $300 total.

They also have a school to learn everything you need to know from seed to harvest. 3 day course...2 hrs a night....cost me $25. http://www.hydrocollege.biz/

You are correct about the denials. Proper paper work and proper medical documentation is the key. This place really helped me out. Two visits and I was done.

" I have met TONS of non-deserving people who got them, using a MMJ Dr. "

give me a single example of someone with their card that is NON DESERVING? are you suggesting that in order to DESERVE cannabis you must have aids or cancer?
bottom line is regardless if their doc is mmj friendly or not, a doctor still reccommends they blaze it up.

lets be real now, if you smoke weed on a regular basis there is probably a medical reason your doing it, wether it be depression or whatever.

btw when you met these non desrving people did you tell them to their face you think they do not deserve to smoke our weed.

oh and also didnt you smoke before you were legal?

i cannot stand seeing people with their cards talking down to others because they got it for chronic pain. the bottom line is EVERYONE should be allowed to blaze and i think everyone should be able to get their card, its impossible for a doc to say no the WEED isnt helping you with insomnia, depression, appetite etc... EVERYONE SHOULD BE ACCEPTED IN THIS PROGRAM.
