Ways to keep Humidity Down

Keep the humidity down
There are two ways to keep the humidity down – ventilation
and heating. Ventilation takes away the moisture released
while heating will raise the temperature and allow the air to hold
more moisture.

I'm trying to keep my humidity down by using a bowl of water with a fan blowing over it so if i understand the above if i put the heating on as well this should also help ?

I've only just woke up and just need someone to confirm this is correct. :spew:

lol

you have confused me here !

It helps a little bit, but also helps to bring humidity up ?

You can go left but you can also go right..............:blsmoke:

putting a pan of water out increases humidity. this is a trick many people use to prevent their sinuses from drying out during the winter (pans of water in front of forced-air-heat vents). buying the dehumidifier was the smart way to go!

Since this thread is getting replies can i ask where's the best place for my de-humidifer to be.

I have 5 plants about two foot tall with a fan blowing across the top, where should i place the de-humidifer in relation to this as i don't want i to clash with the fan.

Sorry if this is a silly question but i like to get things 100 % right nothing worse than having something and not using is correctly.

i dont think it would matter, just anywhere in the growing area. probly not directly next to the fan. maybe on the other side of the room? i dunno just put it in there somewhere

yeah - i would think anywhere near the growing area - good luck with the 100% right goal! my personal goal is 1/2 way right :-)

I've not been growing that long and have only a handful of grows under my belt.

Each time i have had bigger and better crops. I run five plants.

My friend who introduced me to growing had been doing it for a couple of years. At present he grows in an attic. He has heat problems and then cold problems, and now he tells me he has found bud rot on one flowering plant.

He runs 16 plants in a space clearly too small!

He kind of taught me in the beginning so who am i to say anything to him!

I have slowly learned read, and read some more my growing is looking almost perfect. I checked my humidity this morning running at 60% which is too high hense the dehumidifier i have needed to buy.

Trust me when you get the stages right the plants will almost look after themselves all i seem to do now is just water once a week. :blsmoke:

I love this hobby.
