Welcome and congrats on your green card!

Beautiful country, that CO. I've been thru there, spent some time in Co Springs. I wonder if the altitude will require you to adjust your show, somehow... anyone have any knowledge of growing @ 4000+' above sea level?

Or is it just a damn weed that grows everywhere?!

Good question! I have no idea as I haven't started anything yet.
I plan on taking a class or two on it.
But one thing for sure, trying to adjust to the altitude and breathe was a new experience.
A few friends are planning on moving out here from Nevada and I already told them they should quit smoking before their big move, and recommended they eat MMJ while adjusting.

I moved from OR to CO as a young man. I had a pretty high tolorance, even then, but that shit mattered zero once we went to 10,000 to smoke a blunt.

I remember hotboxing the homie's lowrider as we bumped the new 2pac and looked down at the valley of CO springs - A. Mazing view.... but I'm pretty sure I slept the whole 20 minutes down the mountain, cause I don't remember SHIT about that part of the ride!

Goodtimes! ;-)

And like you, they told me so and I scoffed. Damn kids!:wall:

You'll be fine, I'm sure. Take the class and you'll be dialed in by the locals. It's a cool community of growies, but remember that just cause someone smokes/grows pot, doesn't make them your friend.

Keep your cards tight, if you know what I'm saying...you made mention of NV, so I imagine you hear me well.

And look what a single google search of 'growing pot at high altitude' yielded: (first frikking listing, too!) https://www.rollitup.org/outdoor-growing/37720-high-altitude-help.html

Rollitup.org just got some rep+ from me! where's that damn scale button?! kiss-ass

Looks like no matter what you do or where you go, you're going to meet someone who is 420 friendly.

heh. That's pretty cool, if you ask me.

Peace

Thank you for the words of wisdom KingJMS! And the link :)

I haven't met anyone in person yet. My younger days have taught me well, and I'm being ever so cautious/picky. ;-)
I figure I'll just find a store and deal strictly with them and keep it all business.
At this point, I'm not sure if I'll grow and am thinking of leaving that also up to the experts.

You're welcome, KillerCupcake. You have the right idea.

You can also get a book, I got Jorge Cervantes's book and I figure if I just read this book and use some common sense, I will grow pretty stellar weed.

As you've already no doubt found - this forum is a trove of good grow info...welcome! :eyesmoke:

Hey Killer C,
I actually have some good high altitude experience from my Uni days (college). The hills of CO are a great place to hide a big grow. Anyway, being in the CO climate has a number of advantages over warmer, more humid environments. Depending on your altitude (I was around 9500 feet!) a huge factor is thinner air. At altitude there is less of every gas for the plant to metabolize. This means CO2 supplementation is exponentially more helpful than at low altitudes.

As for your hesitation for growing, you are lucky to be in a state where a small grow will most likely get you a slap on the wrist. If you love the good herb, the natural sedative, the tamer of OCD; do yourself a favor and give it a shot to see how you like it. This is a beautiful hobby and you're in a great place to do it! With all the resources here, you can't go wrong.

Peace and Happiness,

Hadj
