Im very frustrating to find out how to water the plants the right way! Pour them, mist until drain or what? I know its supposed to drain 20 to 30 percent right? What I did was mix a tbsp of farmfox nurtient into distilled water gallon and did a ph test kit. Then pour into sides of plant. Its still under 24/7 cfl lights, about 2 weeks now.my first grow... all three seems growing healthy expect for one seems over watered. Its hard to tell how much of water I should put in. How do u guys do it?

How old are the plants? What medium are they in? What size pot?

If they seedlings relax on the watering, most common thing is over watering that kills young plants, as we think we are feeding it every time. Not the case. If soil, or rockwool, coco coir, let the medium get almost dry between waterings. The roots need to be encouraged to grow, and strive down for growth. Average soil growers rule of thumb is stick your finger an inch and half or so in soil, if dry, water, if not leave it alone.

Seedlings are always easier to under water as you can just feed them when they look thirsty. You mentioned foxfarm nutrient, which kind, if the plant is under 4 weeks it really does not need any nutes yet.

My opinion is don't run 24/7 many will argue blah blah yeah yeah, but reality and nature say the plant needs at least a little dark time to develop roots and growth. Plus give your electric bill a rest, be green grow green :blsmoke:

18/6 or at most 20/4 if you think it helps

Heres an easy way:

water the plant like you said, until a decent amount comes out of the bottom. Once the water stops running lift up the plant and remember that weight.

Then let it dry up to the point that it almost starts wilting. Until its dry as a bone.

Then lift the pot up and notice how much lighter it is. Remember both feel of them in your head. There is a large difference so it will be easy to remember.

So next time you water leave it for longer than usual before watering again and youll know when its ready because itll weigh almost nothing.

Depending on pot size I'll water every 3-4 days. Lift the pot, and if it feels light, water. Only feed every other watering.
