watering outdoors

What is the best technique for watering outdoors when the plants are not in pots? they are in my garden, so a hose is not a problem. it is a very dry climate here, like less then half an inch rain since april or so. What I am worried about is spraying them and causing bud rot. I water my garden daily, like I said the climate is very dry. I have been a hydro man for some time, I must say that soil (especially outdoors) is much more challenging. Desease, pests and security oh my! Props to the great soil growers that we have out there. Am loving my outdoors experience and do believe that I will be doing allot more work with soil in the future.

If your plants are budding, you might want to avoid getting the buds wet. Just use the hose and water the ground below the plants (right around the stalk).

here are a few pics if that helped with the question. the first is a view from about 8' away, and the rest are right next to em. They blend in really well with the tomatos, i was suprised. I watered less then 24 hours ago and you can see that the top soil is already dry. First garden, first outdoor grow. we learn as we live

Well then water every other day. They look nice btw. They look like pure Sativa. Am I right? Do you know what strain they are... or are they bag seed?

not to sure on the pure sativa, but I would say close. they have allot of sativa traits but don't grow extreemly tall. the clones were planted outdoor on june 27 and were about 4 inches tall and now the tallest is about 4' (still approx 75 days of flowering still) but rather bushy. they are from a mix of seeds that came from a club. these were just ment to be my mothers of this particular strain. very skunky, am guessing skunk supreme. lots of large orange hairs dense buds loaded with tricomes. and lets not forget everytime you touch em while flowering or open a jar of some cured, it smells like you got your nose in a skunks ass. I have grown them a few times in doors and decided to put the moms outside to save energy. after clipping about 60 clones (all of the lower branches) a week ago they look like this now (pics taken today). I am going to start new moms so i don't pilfer these and see what I get from em. With this strain I average about 1/4 lbs per plant with 8 weeks flowering indoors. can't wait to see what they are gonna do for me. I think that I will take the advice and switch to every other day and see what happens.
