Hi, I was wondering when i should water my clone. My clone is in rockwool and in the soil. Should i wait until the soil is 100,75,50,or 25 percent dry, before i water the soil.

I have heard you are suppose to let it dry completely, but wasnt sure.
thanks

I dont do soil but i would think letting it dry out is never a good thing for a clone, moist but not drenched. But wait for a soil grower to steer you right.

Ugh.. I just wrote an entire soapbox post and lost it..

I'll try to remember what I posted. Something about keeping the soil moist enough to deliver water, but not drown the plant. When you water you're going to soak the soil until it comes out of the bottom. The roots grow hairs when they are forced to search for water, which increases your margin for error and makes the plant absorb moisture and nutrients more effciently.

1. Get a soil moisture meter.
2. Get a soil PH meter.
3. Get a soil TDS meter.
4. Lift up a bone dry bucket of soil.
5. Lift up a soaking wet bucket of soil.
6. Water when it feels too light.
7. Water when your PPM is lower than your target goal.

Yup water when it's about 20% dry I never let them dry right out soil will get air pockets sometimes and no water reaches it killing roots after time ... I water about every 4 days

If you stick your finger into the soil to the second knuckle roughly, and its dry, then you should water, if you stell feel moisture then wait a bit longer. This is the easiest method to use when watering soil from my experience.
