My tent temps are around 77 with lights and extraction fan on. My water is 5.6 and temp is 79-80 degrees. Will I have problems? Do I need to start doing frozen water bottles daily. What is te ideal temp for hydro water? Think I have a good understanding of ppms and ph.

i suggest keeping res temps around 66-68. any higher than 74-75 and youre going to have problems unless you are running a sterile res. a water chiller is ideal for keeping res temps in check, but they can be cost prohibitive. the frozen water bottle method can be effective, but it is not as accurate and can be tedious to maintain. you could also get a more powerful a/c. or you could discontinue any beneficial bacteria you may be using and start adding h2o2 to your res to make it a sterile environment. i dont know too much about the sterile res thing though, so i could be wrong on that one. do some research if youre interested in going that route. personally, i just got a beastly a/c unit and that takes care of the res temp issue for me.

I run that hot and had a lot of issues with rot root because of the bad tap water. Then I found z7 water treatment that fixes a lot of issues and will let you run up to 80f without seeing any of the clear jelly stuff on your roots. It keeps my buckets spotless. I tried pretty much everything and almost gave up on DWC without a chiller. I also run 2w of air per gal. Once your water gets above 75f a lot of issue can pop up unless you do something. The teas are a pain to make and clean up after and only work so so at that temp. N2O2 just kills everything. Trouble is the bad stuff comes back faster then the good.
So you have to keep adding it every few days.

I run hiesnberg tea with out a chiller on a rdwc system water temps have gotten In the higher 70s never a single issue. Bennies starve out root rot . Make sure you have enough air pumping.
