water curing powdery mild???

so i heard that water with ph up in like ph of 8 kills powdery mildew off. i was wondering if the effected buds were water cured with ph 8 or above water would that kill and remove the mildew from the nugs???

I havent had any of those issues when water curing but I have heard it can trigger some mold issues..
