Hello! there RIU!​
I thought I would post my experience with a water cure this year. This particular plant was gettin slammed with cats and pests. We were over confident in thinking she was gonna be alright, but, after further examination, we decided to chop the tops and drown em.:-|

We have done researched the net on this method, but haven't really landed on anything convincing enough to keep us away from trying it. I had sprayed the BT a bit late this year and I didn't want to soak the buds in it at this point either. Hmmmm, So the most organic way to think about going with this, was trying out a water cure for the first time. (maybe last..lol). But, also thinkin...."Don't mock it, unless ya try it" technique!:mrgreen:

So, after sittin back and lookin around the yard, we had the idea: the ICE BOX!

Now thats not just some tap water... We ran a hose though a small tub of activated charcoal with holes punched into the bottom...

Changing the water while it drains, we also used low pressure water to rinse the debris off the bottom into, through and out the drain hole....

looks clean and refreshing coming out though..lol

We used a rack from the stove to hold down the material as gently as possible in the water.

So after about to refills within 24 hours,,,, the water went from a crispy clear, to a light murky green. We figured to now do a refill every 6 to 10 hours until the murk is gone and we have settled clear water again. It took about 3 and a half days to go from clear to murk to clear again.

One day and they are crisp...WTF! So straight to cure....

Im able to fluff and burp and sweat away with batches in bubble bags separated and put right into the ice box. Now im waiting for them. This is todays pics.

i tasted a puff. you gotta try it. its really smooth and got me trippin! I will get up some close ups of the nugs here in a bit!

yea, i only did a few branches of the plant, since it was my first time attempting this. I didnt want to destroy all my branches by sticking them in water:o!
Still curing today, though, not much of a noticeable change in smell either, still stinky!
So the stuff on the left is the water cure and on the right is air cured(same plant). Substantial color diff......

oops...i havent trimmed down the water cured branches yet. thats todays job....collecting its trim for oils and such!

Yeah should be fine, THC and other cannabinoids are not water soluble. So as long as your really gentle then you're fine. Hope it comes out dank for yah!

I have tried water curing on some Malawi Thai I had grown and it came out very good. I only did about 2 Oz. in a large jar but it worked good. Just be aware that the color of your bud is going to change a lot. It will make you loose some weight when comparing to a traditional cure. But if your just going to try it for your personal stash it is worth it. To have cured bud you can smoke in a week rather than 3 or 4 weeks of curing, its pretty sweet. I still use traditional curing for the majority of my bud but once in a while I will do a little water cure just for some smooth smoke fast. I wish more people knew about this. I think that most growers would squirm at the thought that you are about to put your hard earned weed in water, but it works.

Yep! thats how it went down. No taste really, but smooth. And definite effects desired.

I aint sure yet, but works for dirty, infested buds. But im going to have a few folks take the "pepsi" challenge this weekend. That way i get more feedback. Bag appeal is a zero pretty much, so it aint going to the shop. But its fuckin stickier than the air cure.
