Just had the LED turn up now. Tool late for me to be bothered to go out into the workshop but dam its a close fit to almost screwing straight on.

Im guessing I cant just ream those holes out slightly so back to my orignal mounting plan.

Screws will be out past the seal so no need to use sealant which im very pleased with.

------------------------

Correction, It does bolt straight on if you move it around to some other screws.
Just need to pick up some washers and slightly longer screws and ill be mounting it like that with springs to keep tension.

------------------

Found 1 GFX card screw with tension spring in my box of spare parts.
Exactly what Im after except now I need to try find one more with out having to raid a screw from a working card.

Multi-meter was flat so havnt been able to take any reading yet.
any one able to school me up on what "lo ADJ" adjusts? ( @CobKits )
I can guess "Vc ADJ" is voltage but turning it either way doesnt make much difference since its too bright to look at to start with.

Io is current adjustment
Sweet, That one made quite a difference, Makes my Cree 3070 look like candle light in comparison.
30mins into bench running it and temp with IR gun is
58C on the chip,
41C on the copper base in the corner
43C on the radator tank where hot coolant enters.
35C on radiator where coolant is returned to the pump.
37C air coming out or radiator.
24C room air temp.

Fans running at 1407rpm using built in fan controller of the antec (Max out at 2100rpm when coolant temp hits 60c according to spec)
Still fresh thermal compound so a few heat cycles it should improve as it does on PCs.

My water temp is 12C. I'm pretty happy with how well it removes heat.

looks like
upload_2016-10-27_20-36-4.png

higher Tc than i would expect but these chips also have Vf variation

the 3618 i pushed to 320W was under 60C

3618 = 0.10 C/W
1825 = 0.14 C/W

so even with great cooling thats still a 10C difference at 250W on Tj between the two chips

citi calculator falls right in line with that
at 75C Tc, 250W:
1825 = 110C Tj, 128 lm/W
3618 = 100C Tj, 133 lm/W

Had it running all day at work on the bench with infrared thermometer taking measurements every 60 secs and logging it.

Peak temp of the chip recorded was 76C at 2pm (hottest part of the day 29C)
Mostly swung around 68-70C after a 1 hour warm up.

Work bench only has 2 auto logging IR so 2nd one was aimed at coolant into radiator.
Which ranged between 50-59C

Going to run it for a week on 3/4 power to make sure everything is settled in then wind it up to full power.

nice! i love when citi calculator predicts actual temp within a few degrees. is my experience as well. great voltage tolerances on these chips.

Do you have a link to that citi calucator?
The one I found with google search doesnt have any values above 2000mw.

Thanks,
You have any experience with the HLG-240H-54A driver. Never even thought to check its temp and it runs quite hot.
50C after 30mins run time full load. Switching the voltage right down to lowest settings and it quickly drops back to 33C
Room temps 19c at moment.

Looking at the data sheet 70-80c tcase seems to be what they take there readings at.

specs of there basic grow light lowest wattage they have for sale can go as high as 1200 w in the citazen range
