today i smoked some herb that was so rediculous, after a fat bong toke i was cross eyed.

i'll let you guys in on a secret. when you are flowering ur herb and you think ur buds are done, they aren't!

a lot of people say your bud is done when the trichomes are amber... thats what i thought too until i tried an experiment and let the buds do their own thing. i let the plants flower for 4 months and when the whole plant died :o i harvested.

to my amazement this is the best herb i have ever ever ever smoked in my whole life.

you let the plant grow untill when the plant was dead or dying?

I have read this near verbatim before...got any pics?

I just fed a Headband after a week of flush and yellowing (8weeks today) and will feed until she looks done then flush...per Senor thread closer. HB is great at 9 weeks, if it gets shitty I will be a little bummed, also her tendency to hermie late may stop this if it gets out of hand.

Yeah you can let them go a long time, but some people don't have the patience to pick dead leaves out of a large sog...

I hear people say that but the chemists say thc decays after the amber stage. I havest at about 50% amber and at least theoretically, you can't do better thc wise.

See this is how I view it...the trichs will degrade and turn amber after cut/dry/cure, if left in direct sun...degrading the trichs. Bu
t all the big dogs on here always talk about letting it go long. I went just over 10 on a K-Train recently and the structure of the bud started to foxtail and get crappy, and bud leaves browning. Maybe if they are fed longer they will just keep doing well...but still it just makes sense that this is the deal. I normally even cut before 50% as they continue to change a bit during drying.

And if you look at the plant closely in multiple places...you will find trichs at all stages..clear through decomposing (heads fallen off and look like sharks teeth) so if you keep going, as long as she keeps pushing out pistils, you are getting new growth and new clear trichs.

I have not grown pure indicas so maybe this doesn't happen with non hybridized strains.

I have only been doing this for a year so I am still trying to learn, but his is what I have observed.

I will be harvesting my 20 plants in five weeks and will take one of them a week early and one of them a week late and see what happens.

One week doesn't usually make much difference does it?

Cross Eyed isn't my thing, but that's what you get with 100% amber. I'm shooting for 50% - going by the book, but I may let some go 60%

Sativa I shouldn't go over 50% because you may wreck your head high, at least that's what I've heard/read
