Washington only

Hey guys, new grower, new(ish)to the area as well, settling down in Puyallup.

I have recently developed a passion for growing plants and did a bit of research and here's the setup I came up with(I'll post pictures in a bit, with information about it)

I just wanted to post this here cause I don't care to have anyone else around the world help me

Alright so from what you can see, I've gone with a fogponics setup, I am thinking about adding in a top drip system as well, or an aeroponic by using a misting from the bottom. I do not currently have any drainage system and I figure that will be the best way to get my nutrients back up to the plants that just sit around as fog and never get used that end up falling to the bottom.

- The lights I chose are what was suggested to me by a light expert at Lowes. I had in hand my 400W metal halid and 400W sodium phosphate (I believe it was), and he said I guarantee whatever you are trying to grow will grow just as well if not better and it will cost you 1/10th of the price that you will pay per month using those collective 800W lamps compared to this 70W collective. So I put my faith in him, should it not be going well, thankfully there is a 90 day return policy with receipt

- The nutrients I went with are provided by a local Hydroponics store

The reason I chose to go with the fogponics is because the fog enables the nutrients and water to be broken down extremely small particle wise, thus making it easier for everything to be absorbed, better, faster growth.'

-Growstones as a medium

-Grodan to support my plants in the medium and hold moisture

As you can see as well, this is a test run of the system using various peppers, and herbs such as basil, so I can test my green thumb.

I just turned the system on 3 days ago, I transplanted all of these from soil that I had the plants growing in, they were using special fluorescent lights.


Any input would be considered and appreciated, but please don't be rude about it.

something else I should add, because I have immediate future plans to be adding :
1. Top down fan to ensure there isn't any dust or debris settling on my plants
2. Temperature gauge inside one of the chambers, and inside the closet
2.5 Should the inside of the chamber need to be heated, I am open to suggestions but I am thinking of going to the local petsmart and putting a heat rock at the bottom of each bucket.
3. Intake and exhaust fan, but because I am renting, and using a closet, I have to be cognizant of not modifying anything to be permanent.

and I am also aware that I will only be able to put 1 plant per bucket when growing marijuana. I just wanted to get the most of these large buckets for smaller plants. Its as easy as buying a new lid and cutting a hole.

Help, advice, contacts, pointers, tips, hints, the code for god mode!

I am not able to grow marijuana yet, as that's why I'm growing other plants for now (and testing my skills), seeing as I don't have my license. Waiting for my disability paperwork to go through with the V.A.

And no offense to everyone else, but its the same reason I'm on TitanTalk.com and only converse with the Pacific Northwest People. Just preference. I don't need advice from someone who experiences different weather, humidity levels, elevation, etc...giving advice that would be different because we live in 2 different locations. Washington is at least this general area.

This form is here because Washington State is a Medical Marijuana state. It is helpful to talk to people in your state to discuss laws and possible help on where to find your meds (Despencrys). You will follow the same growing facts as anyone else here.

There is a difference in the plants growth ...I grow pre98 in Washington and Colorado...they grow different due to altitude

the ecsd grows different too the nugs dont get as hard in the sativa dom strains

In plant growth yes, but all and all he is going to do the same thing. He might want to get a different strain but again how is he going to grow it differently.

Is he going to say "My plants are yellow, I better get on the Washington forum."

So, would someone care to help me learn about creating a strain, and changing aspects about our plants using our "useless" male plants?

I only say useless, because most people from what I see going on, discard their male plants and use them for nothing.

I would like to do that too! There are a few ways to pollinate your plants. You can do just once branch, I am going for the whole room (only 3 plants)


I am still learning about it.

Pollinating is the easy part from what I understand. But that is only doings things like mixing strains, or just reproducing the same ones given they are the same.

I'm talking down to the brass tax molecular structure, lol, increased THC levels, energetic VS sleepy, creative VS spaced out. What chemicals in the marijuana determine the effects, flavor? How do change those properties?
